...dunno if there was more than one round of F1 questions, but here's from the first wink
  1. Which country hosted the first evening race in this Marina Bay street circuit in 2008?
  2. Which circuit in 1998 did a major pile-up near the La Source hairpin, where David Coulthard lost control of his McLaren during the first lap?
  3. In 1957, Stirling Moss driver Vanwall achieved a historic home-win when he became the first Briton to win a British Grand Prix at which circuit?
  4. Who was the renowned Dutch designer of motor-racing circuits, including Suzuka in Japan and Jarama in Spain, who died in a car crash in ’95?
  5. Which British venue in the Midlands hosted its only Formula One GP when it hosted the 1993 European Grand Prix race, the race was won by Ayrton Senna, in poor conditions?
  6. The Yas Marina Circuit, built on a man-made island is the venue for which day-night GP, first held in 2009?
  7. In which circuit did James Hunt place 3rd in a dramatic finale to clinch the 1975 World Championship after Niki Lauda withdrew, because of dangerous conditions?
  8. Who became the youngest driver to win a Formula One GP when he won the Spanish 2016 GP at age 18?
  9. Which circuit has a layout in the Chinese symbol meaning “above” or “ascend”, that is the first character in the city’s name?
  10. At which circuit did Lewis Hamilton overtake Timo Glock in the last lap of the final race of the 2008 season and finish 5th, and win his first World Championship?
  11. Who won the 1959 World Championship at Sebring after his car ran out of fuel and pushed his car over the finish line to take 4th place?
  12. The bend, “Virage Antony Noghes”, named after the founder of the first Grand Prix held at the track is near the finish line at which famous circuit?
  13. Silverstone hosted the first Formula One Championship race in May 1950, when Alfa Romeos took all three places, with Giuseppe Farina in 1st, Luigi Fagioli 2nd, with which British driver in 3rd?

It was utterly painful to watch.

If the contestant knew anything about pre mid 80's F1 i would be surprised and I'm doubting that they knew much about it pre 00.

I got 12 right and the Mrs got 11. I did mess up on the last one though frown

One could argue that 'evening' is the period between 'day and night' though, so you have the same question with 2 different answers.

www.dictionary.com
Evening.
Noun.
1. The latter part of the day and early part of the night.

Not really, as it references two different circuits. Besides, Abu Dhabi starts in day (light) and ends at night/evening (dark), Singapore is dark at the start.

It was excruciating. I really got the impression that he must have said something on a pub, and his (easily impressed) mates said "You should go on Mastermind with knowledge like that".

Me too. I got 3, 4, 11 and 13 wrong. I said Crystal Palace for 3 and had to pass on the others.

Crystal Palace has never been used for a formal British Grand Prix.

Post war, the circuits used were Silverstone, Aintree and Brands Hatch. The 1993 race at Donington Park was labelled as the European Grand Prix - the British GP went ahead at Silverstone as normal.

I knew the answer had to be either Aintree or Silverstone. I actually started writing Aintree and then changed my mind. What confused me was, in the Silverstone-Brands Hatch era, Silverstone had the odd years and Brands Hatch the even year. When Silverstone alternated with Aintree, it was the other way round, even years Silverstone, odd years Aintree.

since my typing was probably what caused confusion, to clarify -
Singapore's race is in the evening, as opposed to Abu Dhabi's race that transitions from "day to night". Sorry about that!

Knew Aintree but lost my mind on 13 and thought it was either Parnell or Brooks and sadly plumbed for the latter...

11! Got 4 and 13 wrong, although Aintree was a bit of a guess if I'm being honest.

I got 12 out of 13, I thought it was Jack Fairman 3rd in 1950 (I was 3 years too early for his debut).
