Not proving popular in the BRSCC Porsches either. Perhaps if we all write to the MSA to explain why we don't want it, perhaps they'll reconsider?

Full FIA Homologated rain lights, and fuel sampling taps in the engine bay were earlier wheezes that somehow got onto the Blue Book as "proposed for next year" for everyone.
Get your series org./ driver rep to take it up with the Stewards, and write to the MSA.
We got the earlier nonsenses rescinded!

John
Have the fuel sampling taps not become mandatory then?

all good that except, CSCC have very specific rules and regs regarding body work and original body panels. So swopping body parts from one model to another is not possible, other clubs do have rules as well, there committee's would have to take a view on non original period bits for that to happen I would imagine.
You're mis-interpreting the rules on this. Providing body panels were offered as part of the production life of that particular model (the 944 in it's entirety), then they're allowed in CSCC. I.E. fitting S2/951 bodywork to an 2.5 8v would be fine, as would the reverse. However fitting 944 bodywork to a 924 wouldn't necessarily be in accordance with the rules, unless of the same spec as a CGT and even then you may be on a sticky wicket (can't remember if min production numbers are mentioned in the rules...). Likewise swapping between 944 and 968, different vehicles so not allowed.

But back to the original topic, this one has been troubling me also. Right now my 951 has a large dia. alloy ring front tow eye mounted through the original centre mount, which I intend to keep. But I'm considering fitting the wire loops at the rear as admittedly the original tow eye is compromised in it's position. Bigger fish to fry on the car right now though!!

Most of the FrontRunners I have seen in CSCC events have the wrong panels.
I do think that one or two have bent the rules but certainly not "most".

To clarify, most series in CSCC mandate original size and shape panels when viewed from every direction. However this includes panels that are available on limited editions or homologation specials as long as they were available through the dealer network. So, Porsche 993 RSR panels are allowed on any 993 model because you could buy those through the dealer. Similarly, Ford Escort "X Pack" arches are allowed, including the "Group 4 arches" because you could buy those through the dealers for your road car.

The trick is to pick the right car with the right homologation bits to match the drive train!
