Used to be involved ( as a spanner man) at DDMC NS&SCC races - great fun, friendly etc etc. Fewer nutters than the 1 make crowd (e.g XR2 Challenge), and the seed differentials are OK at Croft - the faster cars tend to sail past on the straights, and Croft has relatively few "nose to tail, no overtaking" bits.
You can easily win with a chequebook, but noone bothered to do so - the real action was in mid pack, trying to outrace the other guy who was still on his first set of Kumhos 1/2 way through the season =)

Ill be out again this year, going to do couple of rounds in class c clio. Very cheap running costs in DDMC, ill be using same old rubber from 2008 this year! They have done 10 races and 2 full test days!

Yep, I started the season with a set of 888#s and only bought 2 more towards the end of the season.

Well cheap running costs!

It's your fault we're running the Clio this year (we spoke at Croft last year when I was chatting to Ian Humpish about his Beetle, you said get a Clio, we did...).

Great choice of car, loving it smile

Well chaps.

I'm *Officially* not going to get out for the first race weekend.

I'll make it along to watch (although should probably be working on the car instead). (Gents, can i have a spare ticket please from one of you, (Pete/Anyone?) You know i'll spanner if help is needed)

I'm not too gutted as the main reason is I'm off to Australia and Thailand. A cold workshop, cut knuckles and frustration at seized nuts just isn't as appealing. I know, i know, where's my commitment?

I'll see you for rounds 3 and 4 though! Best of luck to all. Stephen
