Looks like I'm heading to North Weald for a sprint on sunday and was wondering if anyone knows what the tracks like for standing water?

It looks like there could be some very light rain and I'm not sure if it worth using the R888's or sticking with my everyday road tyres.

PS - anyone else there on Sunday.

I did a car limits day at north weald using Dunlop ssr tyres, the concrete surface ripped them up quite badly and ended up through to the canvass. Not sure what its like for standing water there.

Not too bad for standing water when I was last there in the rain. As said, surface is pretty rough though.

Cheers for the replies,

Didn't really consider wear but if it's going to make a mess of the tyres I might just use the road tyres and leave the R888's for the circuits

How much time were you driving to damage the Dunlops? I expect I'll only get 10 minutes running time.

You'll be slow if you get 10 mins running -- 2 practices and 3 timed runs makes 2 minutes a run smile
