Apparently there is an Ap for android based mobile phones that will log speed, acceleration, braking, and G force. It will plot it on a GPS map also. I think it is called "Race Ace". Has anybody used this and is it any good?

I must get one of these 'ere new fandangled phones one of these days.

I emailed them directly asking if this was going to be release for the Ipad (as I want to fit one of those to the GTR), I've heard the Iphone one is pretty good but not very accurate.

Not an Ap, but I'm using RaceChrono on my Nokia. You need an external hi quality GPS dongle to get good results. Onboard GPS was 1s different to the official timing.

Racechrono is fantastic with a 5htz bluetooth external gps. Cost me 20 quid. They even do an odb2 feed. Check it out, for the setup cost its awesome. Within 2/10ths of official times which is as good as my laptimer and it does so much more.

I had a go with this system and it was pretty good. I did find that the windscreen wiper motor in my elise interfered with the bluetooth though.
