It never fails to have that sun and shower mix down there. I've never known such strange localised weather like they get in that area. Wish I was going this weekend, but missing it for only the 2nd time in 8 years due to work. Look forward to seeing some photos and videos from the event. smile
One year it was fantastic weather for 3 days straight, but very rare. IIRC it was the year Barry Johnson got much closer than I like but did take out a farm gate. Learned a lesson on spectating positioning there.

Not exactly Davie Bailey here but I do ok with my old digital camera sometimes. Anybody in particular I should be looking out for to post up?

Good luck to all the Mull crews

Calum Duffy (National), Paul MacKinnon (Reivers), Alec Brown (Reivers), Steven O'Donnell (Reivers) and even more good luck to my ride of the last few years Keith Robathan (National & Reviers).
+1

Yes, will be interesting to see Calum out of his 'comfort zone'.

Are you doing Mull this year Duncan?

Was at Duns down at the roundabout drinking beer where the best entertainment was the arrival of the deer!

Was also at Edrom first time where I only got pictures of the front end of the international field before the cancellation.
Moved up to Swinton which was good viewing but not great for my little camera.

Was at a wind swept and damp Moon & Star near the finish on Sunday where I snapped about 90% of the field on the first run.

I'm still to see if my soggy camera still works and review what I got but I'll post up anything good that matches requests on the thread.

Piss poor pictures really but here they are anyway. All resized orinigals bar the Pug 205 which I thought was the only one of quality enough for croping...

yeah i was on that run of moon and star, gave up with the camera after a while, more likely to damage it than get anything decent, good spectating though with some fast bits at the end of the stage

Only found that end section by 'luck' due to avoiding one of the manned barriers demanding money. Not sure how other people feel about them but if they were to be passively looking for a donation of our choice per car into a bucket we'd be more accepting. But trying to demand a minimum amount per head it is not going to be taken well from anybody I talked to.

Where do they stand regarding blocking access to public roads anyway?

Was the road closed? Big red 'closed road' signs?

Not real road closed signs on the 2 groups I encountered. I know we're not meant be ignoring those signs (oops!) but to clarify I'm questioning the right of a civilian to demand money to allow passage on a public road or path.

I was thinking similar, yes the stage is closed but demanding £5 per person to walk down a road nearby?

Easy solution was just to ignore the people trying to charge us and just walk past them, it wasn't just us doing that either!

creationracing sounds like we share a pal, Mr Finch, I co-drive for him when he needs someone.

Not sure re Jim Clark, but AFAIK once the road is closed nobody should be stood on it who isn't connected with the event, aren't all marshals on the TTs in effect coppers for the day? Or is that a myth?

Walking past seems like the best option though, they aren't going to physically stop folk are they?

I'll check through my pictures and get back if I've got any of the cars requested, it could be a couple of weeks though, I leave home for Le Mans tomorrow!

I don't suppose there is anyone out there able to put the Sky Sports programme onto a dvd is there? My mate's little lad appeared at the end waving a Welsh flag for Gwyndaf and would be made up to have a copy.
