I do both, Test days when we're going for times and detailed setup , but when im just doing basic testing, and general setup or learning a track, Track days are a lot more relaxed, and your not going to have someone in a radical stuff it up the inside at the last moment...

It also means i can put others in the car for a few laps who dont have a race license.

Running a race car on a track day is fine, as long as you treat it as a track day and not an out and out test day... There also tend to be more track days about.

I regularly test a full blown race car on track days, so cant see them having an issue on a car with numbers on it..
Cough......shouldn't you be doing "Test Days" then, not trackdays? wink

Trackdays are also dead useful if you want a bit of tuition or professional coaching; probably the best value go faster accessory you can buy.
