Hi Forum,

I'm after a cheapish helmet certified for motorsport use, but they;re all mega money now that the biker types are using that other standard.

Does anyone know of a decent lid that won;t break the bank?

Cheers

Google 'em both

Edit: just thought of another: Headtec or Hedtec, again Google them

I bought a budget helmet from GPR. Its a Snell 2005 and was about £160-£180 iirc.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I think it's a pity that I'll end up buying a pretty much "unknown" product over an Arai, or similar, but I don't want to buy a track day lid that's got the wrong sticker on it, jus incase that grid marshall with the clipboard from Croft is still in the industry. =)

Grid Marshal just doing his job.

Helmet cost is in proportion to how much your value your head, if you have a cheap head then...

as said above V2 Sport or Racelidz, try Plays-kool.co.uk(iirc)

watch for Snell certified lids, make sue they are SA2000/2005 not K or M prefixed( Kart and Motorcycle respectively) also if it's a BS, it must now be A/FR(red label) a very well known supplier was selling blue labels off earlier this year and not making it known that they are not unusable in competitive motorsport
