What his TR!?
Yep. His (white)TR2 - or was it a TR3?I've got 'photo of it on the grid at Oulton somewhere up in the loft.
I remember, very well, the AMOC had declared a load of stuff on his car illegal so he changed the lot, turned up at the next round, at Mallory, and still won from pole. Crossed the finish line giving two fingers to the control tower, he did.

so does the marsh vantage still run? and what series and where to see? attended hundreds of events of all times and never seen any of these monsters!
Yep. See the pic's with Anthony Reied in it was last year. Did run in AMOC SGT - but that is now defunct as not enough of this level of bonkers cars about. Some more on Reg Woodcock and a picture of his white TR3 in action can be found on:

Note the 'front spoiler' which was the cause of much gnashing of teeth, although it didn't 'change the silhouette of the car when viewed from the side, or above' which is more, or less, what the regs said.

Goos stuff - I'll add to that thread (Autosport). I got into TR racing from watching the Battles with Pete Cox and Steve Hall in the mid 80's (Reg might still have been racing then but think he might not have been as those two were always up front - crazy fast cars even then - so light - allot tubs circ 720ish kg (we can't get near that with steel tubs and more cage, but times similar with better tyres and possibly engines). Bought min in 89 - already moddified (guy from moss built it (so part cheap for him), but unreliable as build a bit "iffy" (alot better now!).http://forums.autosport.com/index.php?showtopic=93...

He was definitely racing with the Aston Martin Owner's Club Thoroughbred Sports Championship c 1985/1986(ish). I did my first race (in my Frogeye) with the AMOC at Oulton and Reg lent me his mechanic to check over an electrical problem that proved to be me being useless. In return, I drove from Brands to our workshop and back to lend him my tyre cutter when it came over all wet at Brands.
Folk like the great Gerry Marshall, Mike Salmon and David Heynes (now sadly, also, deceased) - amongst others - were driving the Astons, Jem Marsh his Marcos Mk1, Dennis Welch his Big Healey and there was also an indecently quick Morgan, but I can't remember the driver's name. Oh, and the name Steve Cave, driving a black TR, pops into my mind for some reason.
Somewhere - under all of the crap in my loft - I've no doubt still got the programmes, final instructions, photos etc from those races.

I suspect that's now true, but in the late 80's it died a death and stopped altogether leaving me to scratch around doing a couple of JDC/MGCC meetings so when they introduced noise limits, I stopped, sold the car, and hung up my (barely used) helmet.Come along to Brands for the first one at Brands 9/10th April Brands Hatch MGCC

We should probably attend to more interesting stuff - which was no doubt the intention of the OP - but, as you asked, it started life as a Speads RS06A, but we've gone down a bit of an aero journey including tunnels, a pretty aggressive front splitter and the very special wing that I imported from the States:
which (as witnessed by all of the twists and turns to the profile, and its low and rearward location) is specifically designed to wrestle with very dirty air and majorly activate the tunnels and underfloor.
Surprisingly, when we put it all together, all of the elements worked in more or less perfect harmony such that we were producing so much downforce (with a zero drag penalty) that the rest of the car, basically, tore itself to pieces (cue drawn out and very expensive testing/development programme).
Anyway! Back to Astons, Thoroughbreds and more interesting stuff.

Richard C is a nice chap and the accident him and Dad had was very unfortunate and they both incredibly lucky.
Richard does post on here (935) so I'm sure he'll add anything if need be.
Hi Gregor. If you look carefully you'll see a dark blue 911 behind Richard and Gerry, that's me. My 911 was a class 2 car. The race track was damp to start with so I managed to hang onto their shirt tails for maybe 4 laps until they could really start getting their big HP down. Jese watching Richard hit that barrier I thought he was going to be killed. I'm glad I did a couple of years in Intermarque allowed me to meet your dad, often on the podium with him, a great man. Win Percy, Richard Chamberlain knew Brian Robinson from old. Bowman in that bloody red XJ220 was just an accident weighting to happen. He was always recking his 928GTS let alone this monster. Definately a case of too much money and no talent. I won the individual and overall championship that year. Happy Days, cheers Graeme Richard C is a nice chap and the accident him and Dad had was very unfortunate and they both incredibly lucky.
