Especially seeing as I'm currently in the process of swapping my passat tdi for a 4.2ltr Audi S6 and have spent AGES convincing the wife it makes business sense laugh

Yup, there seems to be a distinct lack of understanding what the various parts of speech do.

We pondered over this for a while, and you raise a valid point.

If it's deemed as incorrect we can change it (print on demand means no stock pile). What's the general concencous?
Have them all proof read by the grammar nazis. yes

Man-maths is not a plural BTW...

Maths is a plural noun. Ergo Man-Maths is a plural noun.

Nope, mathematics is a collective singular, there's just the one...

I'd better fire the sub then. Online dictionary described it as a plural noun.

Hmm. My well thumbed (albeit not that much since Uni) OED has it as noun plural, although it does acknowledge that it can be treated as singular.

So we'll stick with the wording as it is.

At the risk of being just the tiniest wee smidgen uppity, I'd contend that the OED is flat wrong. smile

Mathematics is no more plural than geography or biology.

Chambers 20th Century FTW! (if it agrees with me hehe)

ETA:
Chambers 21st Century Dictionary said:
mathematics : singular noun: the science dealing with measurements, numbers, quantities, and shapes, usually expressed as symbols.

ETYMOLOGY: 16c: from Greek mathematike relating to learning, from manthanein to learn.

Not often I would agree with you, but in this case I will. Some of the T's are fine and ok to wear in generally polite company (I even considered buying one of them).

However, these are not, although I'm sure the intention is honourable.

Debate over as far as I'm concerned, the design is set. Now, have you bought that tunnel shirt yet?

Like that. We were talking in the office about it also being deliberately vague to avoid online incrimination as well?

So:

Lepton (pronunciation!) noun: A deliberately vaguely defined measure of speed only understood by a PHer. Considered out of the range of understanding of most road users, & specifically of Safety Camera operators. See also: Hooning, Making progress, Notice of intention to prosecute,
How about:

Lepton (pronunciation!) noun: Unit of measurement for velocity, variable, non-linear, metaphysical: The speed of fun. See also: Hooning, Making progress, Attitude test.

What is the collective noun for a small number of sheds?
Having just spent three weeks in the satellite towns of the home counties I'd suggest:
A yard of...
An estate of...
A cul-de-sac of...
or
An impound of...

As it currently is, it's simply grammatically incorrect. As has already been pointed out, it's supposed to be defining a noun but the definition given is for the infinitive form of a verb. If, as Stuart has said, it is supposed to be defining "PHer" as in a member of the PH community then, as this is a noun, the definition needs to be changed. If the intention is to be defining a verb (such as "to participate in the PH community"), then the term itself and the descriptor of "noun" both need to be changed. Either way, an amendment is needed for this tee to be correct.

I'm aware that I'm a bit of a lurker when it comes to forum contributions, so apologies for popping up to make such a grammar police comment if that irks anyone - just trying to be helpful.
