Hello, we do appreciate what you are saying. However, we don't buy stickers in bulk, we make them to order so that we can offer the widest possible range and this means that we make absolutely minimal profit on them. Our postage across the site is a flat £2.99 no matter what you order (unless you spend over £50, in which case it is free), and we have found that a very small number of people come to the site to buy individual stickers. The alternative to what we currently offer is to massively reduce our range and produce a couple of designs in limited colours so we can reduce costs that way but we do not think that this is the option that most PistonHeads customers would prefer (though let me know if we’re wrong!). Thanks, Vicky at Push

I would not say wrong because it is your decision as a business, However if you were to ask if the decision is a good one economically, then I do not think it is. You are frustrating potential purchasers with that policy. It is therefore not a very sensible policy IMO. But it is yours to make. If you cannot actually supply these stickers at a postage cost which will attract buyers that is your choice. You will be the poorer as a business.

I used to buy a sticker for every car/company car I had.

It was the P&P that stopped me buying them again

Perhaps I should buy up a range of stickers and offer to sell them on with minimal charge for P&P.

Suspect this won't be allowed though.

If you tired to charge £2.99 p&p on ebay they certainly wouldn't allow it........

It's what's stopping me from buying one too. Why not have a <£1 P+P charge for stickers as they clearly don't cost as much to send as something bulky like a T shirt?

I notice the representative of the supplier has gone quite. Pity.

They may have gone home?

They may indeed and it is entirely possible.

Dread had this sorted. A great pity this is what is considered an acceptable alternative by PH Towers.

The issue isn't with the price of the stickers, it's with the price of the postage.

It sounds like she's deliberately misunderstanding. They don't seem like a nice company at all, I mean they don't even show you the postage price until you've entered all your details and they don't have a phone number (either they're a bit dodgy or just can't be bothered with customers). Not people I like doing business with but they've got a monopoly which discourages all that's fundamentally good about a free market (i.e. price and quality competition).

I helped run focusstoc for three years as site admin and was involved with merchandise and such including club branded stickers so I know exactly how much they cost to have made and post out. Even made to order on demand it cost us only a couple of quid all in, including postage and a bit of margin which went toward hosting costs and other merchandise investment.

Me too. As a serial car changer, I proudly bought and displayed my PH sticker a few times a year, every time I changed my car.
I don't anymore.

Can they not set-up a small stall at each SS so we can get the stickers without being mugged off for postage?

Hypothetically, could I buy 26 2" stickers (say half black and half white to keep it simple)for just over £50 to ensure free P&P and then put an advert up on PH classifieds (which I qualify for free ads on) to resell them for £2.50 (original sticker cost plus 2nd class stamp) rather than the £4.95 SDITH would charge?
Or is that not the 'done thing' or against some site rules.
No profit in it for me, but also less profit for SDITH who may then rethink their P&P costs downwards.
(Apologies if this has been discussed before)

I mentioned it in passing earlier in the thread. As I alluded to, I don't know how you'd manage it because I suspect the powers that be would very quickly crack down on that.

But why?
Surely I can sell whatever I legally own, and assuming its not fake stuff why would PH not let me sell it on their classifieds?
SDITH would have been paid what they wanted for them and I wouldn't even be profiting (in fact, I would be out of pocket if you took my time into consideration).
If its a good deal for PH'ers, and SDITH got paid exactly what they specify on the shop, wouldn't Haymarket be in favour of it (assuming Haymarket value PH'ers in these times of austerity)

edited to add.... or maybe I could just buy the 26 stickers and get free postage and then bring them along to a SS and sell them for £1.99 each (assuming that SDITH still don't show any interest in doing this themselves)

I think we need a formal view of this from Garlick.
