The exhaust look fantastic. Any info on power gains compared to other type of manifolds? Just wondering if heat will not be an issue with the bends so close to oil and aircon rads, despite heat shield... I'm getting very close on pulling the trigger and the Can-Am certainly looks more and more a possible option, even if I only considered the GTR in the past. At my age I have to consider ease of entry and exit of an Ultima. Also, as I am spending more and more time in the south of Switzerland (Ticino), I think the open top would be perfect for drives up and down the valleys with plenty of small and twisty roads, enjoying the sun above with some head protection in case of a thunderstorm.

Hi Daniel. The package has been dyno tuned, but after the car is IVA'd it'll go back to just check everything is perfect. Until then I'd rather not give any figures, just incase. All I'll say is, there is a substantial gain over the normal 424bhp quoted for LS3 engined GM production cars. Sorry to be cagey, more info to come later I'm using Nimbus sheeting for the shields, which has very good heat reduction properties. In motion, the air drawn thru' the side vents will provide cooling air from the outer sides, so fingers crossed the two together will control the heat to those 2 rads.... ultimately, time will tell of course!

Afternoon all. Today is a great day.... the sun is shining here in middle England and the Can Am has made V8 noise! After lots of hard work, the I've woken the LS3! I've shot a short video with my iPhone and uploaded it to my main build page. I you want to hear it click here: Ultima Can Am Build SiteThe site is open to anyone to view, so no need to sign up to the book of face

Cheers peeps, yes, it's really coming together now and the AB designed parts are so impressive, it's been a real joy to build. Still plenty to do tho', next I'll be turning attentions to the immobiliser & dashboard, but having the engine firing really is a motivating milestone. Now I just have to resist the urge to sit there listening to that engine & exhaust

You realise that with that screen you will only have about 3 days a year that you can use the car.
Graham was the only CanAm at the open day and he needed the top to get home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw 2 Can-Am's both reds and one with a Lotus umbrella. Good grub, sunny weather but few Ults there.
