I have a wiring question...

Where in the world does the pink wire (radio to fuse block) connect to at the fuse block? There are two wires left unconnected at the fuses Pink and Brown i believe), but no indication where they go. The pink is supposed to be a switched live. There are no references/diagram for the fuse block or the relay rail, so I am a bit lost.

Also, what fuses are for what? I have the order, but no indication what each is for. (I searched the forum and found no answer on this one. Sorry if I missed it...)

Just off to work but have the info on what the fuses do and what all the relays do.
Will work out how to post it this evening.

I have an Excel sheet for fuses and relays but cannot find a way to bring it over in a text form that I can paste here.
I could mail them but feel that many others would benefit from the time I took working out what everything did.
Anyone know how I can convert them?

In excel you should be able to save the file has html. under the file menu select "save has web page" If you then view the webpage and copy the source code you may be able to paste the body right into piston heads if they allow html.

You can also save the file has text file then just paste the text.

If that doesn't work email it to me I can scan it into a pdf and post it.

Right, lets see if this works.
electrics

Your pink wire can go to fuse 2. Unplug the green and plug in the pink which has a spade on the side. Plug the green onto the spade on the pink.

Perfect! Thank you for the assist!

You didn't happen to record which fuses in the fuse block are for did you? (Don't ask for much do I?)

The Excel sheet has 2 tabs. One for relays the other is fuses. The fuses are all listed with what they do.

Some of the uses listed are unique to my car.
Also I have not yet shown that on my car the supply to fuse 1 now comes via a relay in an attempt to get some of the load off the 'burn your fingers hot' ignition switch.

Not had a long, warm, run since fitting it to find out. Maybe the run to Pistonfest will prove something.

I have a starter button from an S2000 for mine. Does the relay already in the loop really let it get that hot?

Relay 6 is the start relay and supports the actual start function. It does not help with the load on the switch during running.

So you've taken the white wire off fuse one, connected it to pin 86 of a new relay. Then run a new wire from the battery (hopefully via a fuse, probably built into the relay) to pin 30 on a relay, with the output (pin 87) to fuse 1, where the white wire used to go? Is that right? Could you give me any more detail/photos of where you position the relay, got the additional positive/ground feeds?

I might try that as well, as I also get a very hot ignition switch, particularly when driving in hot rain, with my lights/wipers/ac on. To the extent I was almost branded "LUCAS" when I switched off the ignition.

My battery cable goes to a master cut off in the drivers pod then back to the other side to a master fuse block (50A) mounted just behind the fuse panel. This connects to the big cluster of brown wires that would normally connect to the battery.

My new relay takes its power (Pin 30) from there.
All else is how you described it. The relay is bolted to the back of the relay/fuse panel.

Incredibly long shot, but do you still have a copy of this file Steve?

This is officially the longest ever thread resurrection, with a response, in the history of Pistonheads… over 17 years !!!!

Didn't see the age of the thread and now understand perhaps why the link to "electrics" doesn't work at least not for me
