Hi folks,

my name is Christian, I am from Austria and I´ve bought the broken Ultima from Liam.
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Including the Ultima I got Stage 1-14 (you also discussed it in the forum).
After an really hard work of 6 days my Ultima looks like on the pictures!

I did a total new rebuild, missing parts now are three wheels, front- rear clamshell, complete brake left front, windscreen, left headlight and some little things.
This parts I will get from Grasser Motorsport in Austria next week, so hopefully I can take my first testrun befor the year is over.

Stil to do list:
Fit the body, fit the windscreen, change the dashboard, rewire the harness....

Hope you will like my quick project.

Regards Christian

Great project. Great idea buying the replacement parts from the factory rather than repairing the old ones. Look forward to seeing more photos.

Word of advice - get them from the Ultima factory.

The old chassis is now ready for melt down to build new things out of it.

Is this a route to getting an Ultima on the road in Austria Christian ?
(buy a pre-registered damaged one and repair with new parts)

yes, this would be easyer to register the car.
If some German Ultima drivers red this - they please could help me with their documents (Fahrzeugbrief/Fahrzeugschein, TÜV documents).

The Customer in question does not want to get into a Forum fight so has kept his issues of this forum... He might email you personally if he sees this thread... I think he was in Europe somewhere if i remember..

My post was aimed at Stigs stating to buy it all off the factory, not the customer for rebuilding it.

Not wishing to start a bun fight but as we know there are alternatives to factory parts, some are considerable better.
But if Christian is buying parts off Grasser including screen and body, it'll either be factory standard and Grasser are the middleman, or modified by Grasser to the customers requirements, so why go to the factory if it is easier to get the same or better from Grasser?

it is as you said, the parts are factory standard, including the AP brake (calipper and disc).
I will get a good price for all the parts, have no waiting time, and Grasser is only 180 miles away from me.

Martin - you have mail!

Thanks, I am located in Braunau / upper Austria.
Think this is the wrong direction to you.

Tomorrow I will build my own center placed cable gearshift system with part of a VX220, think that will be work fine!

Update:
yesterday i drove to Grasser Motorsport and came back with a transporter full of goods :-)
Today I changed the engine oil, filled up the cooling water, assembled the front and rear clamshell.
Hope I can start the engine the next days (without the wiring harness from the car), want to hear the noise of 7litres!!!

Will keep you updated,
Christian
