Have to say the rear video of the run the last second when the flames come out of the exhaust, this is the reason we owner Ultimas, it's just outrageous ..

Yup!

Must be a bit wierd getting to see the fireworks out the back? I've heard a lot about the 3' of flames out the back when I miss a shift under heavy braking () but never seen them...

Would be good publicity for Ultima to put it on the TopGear track and beat the exotica...

Amazing. I remember talking to Gareth about two years ago, helping him fit steering UJs, when I spoke to him then I thought he was a nutter, as it sounded like he was building a fairly extreme GTR. This new one seems even more nuts. The Belgian police don't stand a chance

Gareth, can you tell us more about the engine specs? Will you be allowing American Speed to sell such an engine to us ordinary mere mortals, or is it a G Man secret?

I only live a few miles from you, I'd like to meet up some time with my more ordinary 545bhp GTR. Are you taking it to Donington?

Congrats to G-man and the Ultima team, especially Richard for caning Gareth's car I must admit to wondering about the 'factory demonstrator with 640bhp' and then when G-man's name came up, all was clear. I can see another Bluesatin engine upgrade coming on, and maybe CJ the Stig will be tempted to keep his now-even-more-legendary make of car? (And I may get around to building one )

My engine is available from www.amerspeed.com, I did a lot of research before deciding on a 377ci chevy.
A 377ci is an overbored 350ci, which has the ability to rev, torque being higher up the rev range. The basics are alloy block, child and albert billet lightweight crank, 3 stage dry sump, a trick 18degree chapman race head www.chapmanracingheads.com/p_cylinder.asp?ID=30 this gives the power, value gear by jesel, a comp cam , high flow carb and primary designs equal length exhaust www.racecar.co.uk/primarydesign/
I have to say Gail at american speed thought I was nuts

I may be wrong but did you fit a Quaife LSD ?
and whats your ratios in first and second, cause that's not possable on a standard 5 speed box ie 60 in first. Did he start in second ? I'm itching to find out.......

So your saying you did not alter the box, just fitted a 5 Speed instead of the 6 you had ? The tallest gearing I know of in a standard G50 5 Speed was a G50/50 short tail, and that has a 3.153 first and 1.79 second. Thats works out that you had to be hitting 8000 rpm in second to hit a ton. So that confirms those MSD rev limiter chips aren't that acurate after all. Very glad I have that exact box in my garage wieghting for my next car.....

Well done again mate, hope the old girl holds it together, would be great in a head to head with an F1 Macca.....

Fantastic G-man. Well done. One quick question. What the is that tractor doing there? Or is that an added incentive to stop?

I can feel an other order to the factory coming on! One day soon.

Well done Gareth. That stunt will do wonders for our second-hand residuals. I have had two offers for my car today and I havent even advertised it.

Looking at the video clip, the nsr wheel locked up which means that time could be improved on. It would be good to get your car to the RWYB and show us some real times

Need to get my car down to Power Engineering again and get them to verify the 700 plus horsepower with the nitrous system.. but I am too scared in case it blows up

So how much for the turnkey engine, or is it a case of "you can't afford it if you need to ask"?

I still have one spare kidney.

The engine is for sell at www.amerspeed.com. It's about 20k USD.

Does anyone know how much for an aftermarket carbon ceramic disc brake system cost? I went to Brembo's Website. I think they sell it but they don't have the price listed on their Website.

This is definately one for the 'If you have to ask you can't afford it' catagory.
