Hello

I try to find out a bit of the history of the Ultima front suspension. I hope the experts here can give me some help.
The reason is that i look for a front upright of a Ferrari P4 Replica that was built by Noble at the begining of the nineties.
I found out that the first Ultima MK1 used Ford Cortina uprights as the P4 Replica. Later they changed to aluminium ones on the Ultima and
on the P4.
It would be very interesting if somebody would know if the front suspension on those cars was the same? Is the aluminium upright still the same geometrie
as the ford ones? Pictures would be great of the first Ultima aluminium uprigts or drawings if somebody has something like that
Any help is greatly appreciated to get that car back on the road.
Thanks
Oli

I was told current uprights are Granada based, at least the hub and bearing carriers.

IIRC

The top wishbone ball joint mounting holes are 1/4" in from the mods in the working drawings. This would only be a camber change.
The later Ultima hubs have a sleeve for the tapers seats.
The brgs are Ford.

You could ask Neil Foreman, here http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/article/about_us

He built a 1990 P4 kit from Noble and bought the rights then apparently sold 50 more.

A few of us used NF Auto / Car Builder Solutions for bits for the Ultima.

I bought the P4 moulds and jigs from Lee Noble.

Neil manufactured a very similar car.

I also own Q369 HNR.

I thought I had.

For clarity:

The Ultima hubs are made to accept a sleeve on the ball joint taper, this increases the durability. It is essentially the same part.

@ 1point7bar
That sounds interesting. So the verical links are available from you?
So you do bodywork as well? We would need a new front part as well.

Thanks
Oli

I sold the moulds to a colleague.

They were then sold to a gentleman from Ireland.

I will ask about contact details.

The moulds etc. were sold to a bloke call Corrado (christian name) who has a couple of restaurants in Dublin, S Ireland.

He planned to sell kits etc.

That is all I got.
