That gearbox mount is a bit of a bodge! If the gearbox is rigidly fixed to that cross member, engine rocking could cause fatigue of the bolts and/or crossmember.

My '98 Defender 110 had both products used on the chassis from new and it's still perfect with no rust. Of course, being a Defender it gets used all year round and it has been swimming smile

If anyone is building their car currently it could be a good investment (and I'm not taking anything away from what the factory do).
