Wilton House Supercar Show
Discussion
Just got back from The Wilton House show - a really great day and I will definitely put it in the diary next year, but a shame it clashed with the factory open day. Spotted 356 Speedster in the super car parade made up of some very exotic metal/carbon fibre - Veyrons, Zondas, Aventadors, Enzos, and of course Ultima's!
Yup, I was along for the morning's fun Very early start to meet up with everyone down south @ 6:30.... had a great time driving from Reading Services over to Wroughton and then onto Wilton in the parade (except when I was following the blue 4C, which showed how proper underbody aero worked and kept chucking road debris at me ... I didn't stay behind him long!).
Before Wilton, we had unlimited use of RAF Wroughton runway for a little side-by-side drag racing, which as really good fun.... some folks were just looping round and continuing to run right up until we left for Wilton. The Enzos were properly noisy, it was great to see them being given their head (shame the Zondas didn't go down tho'). The Nissan GTRs were clearly loving it and were pounding round there all morning. The Stealth was odd as on every run it was spluttering and struggling, never managing to actually get down there with much speed. Still, good to see people with these expensive cars not afraid to give them some stick
Jay & Lord P put on a great show, while I was a bit miffed to miss the Factory Open Day, I'm so glad to have made the effort to go to Wilton and properly drive the car and have some fun with it! Good to meet Ult-Jim & his dad down there too

Hi, hope you can advise.
I've entered wilton this year (my first) and see that some drivers had some fun a wroughton last year.mive been emailing wilton but to no avail. I wanted to know if wrought on was part of the rally run from the hotel to wilton house this year and do I need to apply or just follow the other drivers and enjoy?
Hope you know more of this than me
Dave

Participation in the run down to Wilton is by invite only and the route/timetable will only be available to those on the 'list'.
I suspect you are too late for this year but you could try a mail to Jay.Broom at wize1.co.uk
He is the organiser.
If you do mail make sure you say what the car is in the title of the mail as I suspect he will only be opening mails at this late stage if they 'appeal'.
Steve
PS I did the first Wilton event....great fun and I do know the plans for this year are even better.

I applied at the beginning of June and the supercar run/parade was pretty much full then, however I was lucky enough to receive an invite, so will be taking part in my Can Am this year.
The run this year includes exclusive use of Gurston Down Hillclimb venue, prior to the run to Wilton. It may be worth pinging an email to Jay, but I do know that as of last week there was no more room, but there's always the chance of a cancellation.

Hi yes I am already booked into the run by jay broom. But I'm unsure about the schedule and the RAF event or even if it happens. I've emailed jay several times but get no response
As the run and associated events are by invite only the details are kept secret for as long as possible. You will be sent an email close to the day giving you all the details.
