What are the thoughts with side scoops generally? I thought they prevented cooling at idle?
Is Aerodynamics drag also a possibility?Aerodynamics are always a give & take just like the rear wing, I would take the forced cooling at speed over Aero during peak horsepower, Aero at the scoops wouldn't come to play at an amateur racing level, UNLESS you are super fasssst.
My FF Cobra suffered from heat then I changed the radiator (bigger) and an aggressive big electric fan, My Aero just does not exist, all that should change with an Ultima.

Several months gone by and still no box from Russ with scoops. Time to look else where and let everyone here know buyer beware of this vendor.
They are direct copies of the outer part of the reverie ones... I had the reverie ones designed originally and Russ ended up buying my canam and making the copies.A good friend recently asked me to fix his GF ones as they had cracked, I ended up having to filler them and took moulds then made them in proper vacuum formed carbon fibre, Strong and very light.
Im simply NOT interested in selling scoops, but if you fancy making your own I would be happy for you to come round and use my moulds to make yourself carbon ones or if you really wanted black GF ones... I would even provide the tools and tuition!
Alternativelly the ones in the picture above are very high quality and actually a nicer design IMHO, I saw them fitted to Keiths stunning grey ultima.

Loved the weekend at LM... and a pleasure to meet you and have some banter/beer!
I was so impressed with your one-off CF shelled Nob, especially as you did it yourself!
All power to you my friend!
Keith

Is Aerodynamics drag also a possibility? It always amazes me that people fit the same cooling system in a 600bhp car thats in a 400bhp version and expects it to cope... remember power is approx 1/3rd of the energy produced by an engine.. the other 2/3 is heat, sound and vibration, so unless the car gets a lot louder you have transferred that energy to heat somewhere in the car (gearbox, water system, exhaust etc) and thus needs managing/planning for?
saying that I never noticed any difference in idle temp before running these and after on my 500bhp canam, and I managed some very fast speeds with them fitted with roof down (greater that 190mph).

Was indeed an Impressive Ultima, I'm not that easily impressed nowadays lol
Our drunken antics during the 'Rev Off' certainly entertained the rather large crowd, they might head our warnings next year and not park cars close behind us
Was a great weekend for sure and was fantastic to see so many old friend Ultima owners... bit disappointed yours was the only Ultima there though lol... we need to force Steve to put his car back together and start using it again.
