yes, have seen that before, but would require a huge ammount of chassis modification to get that to fit.

that said, I do like it...
it doeslook to be rather wider than an ultima and the cabin much thinnner, whcih would mean alterations to the cage and roll hoops, together with the front rad cage needing altreation and the entrie rear chassis section would need alterations and lengthening

just thank god my workshop ISNT finished yet...or a silly money pit project may ensue..
I was planning major body mods at some point.. but the way things have been going lately that may end up being hip and knee replacements by the time the new workshop is finished..

It has grown on me. It looks a lot better than most of the "cars" on track now days.

On a side note: that aircraft poster had me totally fooled!

I think you will find that the centre section is almost standard Ultima. It is the front and rear clams that have been widened. Not sure about the slab sides and sharp wing-top edge but I do like the overall look (not £100,000 worth though).

Is it possible to ever finish the workshop!!! Surely it is constantly work in progress that changes with that new piece of 'essential equipment' you have just managed to acquire. And then there are the little decorative items that you find on ebay or at autojumble's to brighten up the place.

It probably will be the hip and knee repairs before it is complete and that is how it should be.

you do realise that I was commenting on Doms post and the links within and NOT regarding the car in the thread title?

Perhaps someone should add hip and knee joints to the Autobionics wish list.

Sorry. I'll blame the wine again.

The Aero-Master looks very striking but if you look closely at the chassis in the pictures it is very crude with open ended box sections of quite small sizes and very little triangulation.

You would probably need to reverse engineer it. Buy the body and then build a decent chassis to fit it.

Paul

PS. I would like my new hip and knee joints made of titanium.................. anything to save weight.

agreed, exactly what i thought when i saw pictures of the chassis, it doesnt look very stiff, or even very well built... but that could just be the pictures...maybe, but probably not.
whether it would fit the ultima chassis with some modification really depends on exactly how far you would need to go on modifying and if any main chassis parts would need altered.... which could end up requiring sva or whatever the current test would be at the time of completion...which I am sure no one would want

You may also notice that the car has no windscreen wipers - the front screen is perspex so wouldn't take the abrasion of the wiper blades. OK for the track - in the dry - but useless for the road. Can't imagine what it would cost to tool up a new complex curved glass windscreen although presumably Bentley have one....

I think if a GTR chassis with centre section body turned up for sale I could well be interested to use it as a dolly for a restyling exercise..
cant be that difficult to pick up where I left off 20+ years ago when I passed my laminating city and guilds at the boat yard... biggrin

That chassis has had a LOT of work done to it. The suspension & steering look interesting, Is that what it takes to get rid of bump steer, LOL ;-) There really is nothing about that car I don't like, it looks awesome and appears to have been properly engineered. I'd love to see it up close.

think he has gone as far as perfection would allow...
I personally think if the factory took the car as a pointer for future development they wouldnt go far wrong.... should seriously increase sales too!

I doubt they would be interested, as it seems they are still too much involved in their Group C "trip". A pity though, as plenty of solutions exist to make the product a real modern hypercar IMO
