I first saw an Ultima at the 1998 Donington show. The quality of the Sport kit (no GTR at that time) far out shone anything else at the show. I booked a test fright with Ted, ordered the kit in October and started the build in December. Having completed the rolling chassis time came to order the body. Ted told me a new body, the GTR, would soon be available, which would fit the Sport chassis with only minor modifications. Ted collected the chassis, pre fitted the GTR body and returned the car free of charge! (in fact the "fitting the body" on the factory web site is my car). But I digress. The car was SVA'd in May 2000 and attended all Donington shows until they were discontinued. The Ultima factory had the "Ultima Marquee" with reserved parking for all owners just outside. We used to meet up at the Donington services and arrive in convoy. Ah, those were the days. I think me and Steve_D are the only owners still posting on here who experienced the sight and sound of 10+ Ultimas arriving at the show en masse.

I hope to attend the show on one of the days.

Posting for V8YES
Possible Ultima parking area.
Email received from the show organisers.

" Hi Paul,

No space has been booked as yet, but I will now! Depending on the number of cars, I could get you all very close to the hall in an area all to yourself by the entrance. Would look fab and work well with the Supercar display we have inside. Keep me posted on numbers and we'll work with you to give you a premium spot! "

Well some good news today I spoke with Ian the organiser of the event today he's sent me a plan off the event showing were he would like to have us parked I have to work out how to post the plan on hear so please be patient . The area is along the glass front of the exhibition centre on a paved area with some parts covered by a glass atrium . This means every body going into the show will pass this point on a path . This area is as good as it gets without paying to be in the exhibition centre Just need to take full advantage of this . And fill the area .

Will probably push the car out the 50 feet required to attend!

Guys
Paul (v8yes) has asked me to post this for him with the image.
This is the plan for the Donington Kit Car show on the 30th & 31st August. The area we have been allocated is between the red and green block along the exhibition centre. This is a paved area with some glazing above. The glazed covered area is on a first come first served basis. Please leave 8ft between cars to allow people to move around. Ted and Richard at Ultima are providing a banner. If more info is available Paul will advise.

Hi all I've spoken to the organisers and I've asked the question about arrival and depart times . And the answer I've been given is that we can come and go as we please with the ultimas . Also to answer highflighers question I've been contacted by 8 owners so far showing a intention to bring there ultimas at some point over the weekend so let's hope we can hit over 10 cars that would be a result .

Its free for kit car driver and £10 for the passenger. Lets hope we can make more than 10 cars and we will have missed the bank holiday weather curse!!!

If you are heading through the Paddock feel free to drop in to our workshop - hidden away behind the Formula E as you go in on the left. Should be there Saturday and Sunday.
