Well in my case I seem to have proved that mdot is not great enough with a mechanical pump at idle as my engine would equalise at @ 112deg or more depending on outside temp. With an electric pump the engine idles at 85 deg or less if I set the controller lower. Agreed that the delta t when trying to run at 75 is 20-25% lower than when running at 85.

I will add my, wine fuelled, penny's worth.

I looked into this waterless coolant and didn't like the fact you couldn't mix it in the event of a leak (when away from home).

I use water/antifreeze mix with water wetter additive. My radiator is a custom aluminium one with the biggest fans I can fit. They are controlled by the GM ECU and I never have a water temperature problem. I also have an oil-over-water lamina oil cooler - which I think is part of the secret to good cooling in an Ultima.

I sat in stop-start traffic for an hour in 30+ deg temperatures in St Saturnin, Le Mans this year, and although the fuel boiled (another thread) the water temperature never topped 100degC.

Most high performance cars have the oil cooler in front of the radiator (or beside) where it gets good cooing. Not in a side pod with limited air flow. What is your oil temperature?
It is, after all, another coolant if you extract the heat from it.

I don't know the science (I admire those that do, but I didn't pay enough attention at school!) but I know what works for me.

It is the standard one that came on my crate LS7 engine. Not sure what GM car has the laminover cooler on an LS7 install.

I didn't specify it and it was a surprise to see it when I unpacked the crate. It caused a few headaches sorting the plumbing but it has proved to be worth the effort.

Mine looks quite different and is bolted to the block and includes the oil filter mount.

Laminova ECD54-329 Engine Oil cooler installed on an LS-7. Warms the oil up to operating temps quickly, and maintains oil temps to around 240 F on high speed runs - 30 minutes at 180-195 mph with the engine operating at a constant 6200 rpm

Hi all , Im scratching my head here in amazement ??? are there that many of us having over heating troubles , mine goes up to just under 90 and the fans come on , in this weather it then stays between 85 - 90 untill im on the move again(I live in SE London so lots of traffic to contend with ) and the temp drops to 83/82 and the fans go off , In spring or autumn the fans can bring the temp down so they switch off , dont get me wrong Im not going ner ner ! Just showing the other side of the coin ,
