My personnal goal it to target the McLaren F1 power level, as it is one of the first hypercar and the one that was released when I got my driving license. It was still a pure beast without excessive electronic.
And never forget the Ultima-McLaren link. 2 Ultimas where used as test mules during the F1 development stage...

Since I have had mine on the road, I have never dared to floor the throttle, maybe because even in the dry and with a moderate push it goes totally silly in 1st, 2nd, and and and... and it will go very tail-happy if I go too enthusiastic accelerating in 3rd. But the real fun is taming this, as over time you get to know how to anticipate what it is going to do and thus slap a massive grin on your face. Even on the track, I have not had the B@lls to give it the whole beans as I know I am not up to what it will deliver as I value my life way too much!

'tickle, Squeeze and smooth ' is the name of the game...

..and slowly building up to where comfort become naked fear!

Already I have found this threshold - Sunday I booted it perhaps a little too enthusiastically going down a straight, and for the very first time I felt a very weird sensation of what I thought was dizziness, bit like when you have just gone a tad too far with the cider, with you vision swimming around you... so either it was a heart attack or I had just found my limit!

Thankfully my passenger reported the same feeling as he asked politely if we could go back to pick up his brains at the beginning of the straight - so it must have been the 'Gees' that was doing it, ! eek

Radicals will always be faster round corners unless you have a very trick Ultima.

Absolutely, especially as I am still running on those dreaded F1 eagles! I have no intention of changing them, until they are shot to bits or on-the-limit legally. I wanna get my monies-worth first, even though they are not wonderful!

Paul
What good is that going to do?

Imagine someone hitting you hard with a lump hammer. Now, imagine someone hitting you hard with a lump hammer wrapped in padding.

That's a start. Then once the aero is as good as the Radicals it'll be nearly as quick wink

There's one in Britcar now, one if the quickest out there. Ultima laptime wise power being equal is not even close to the rxc

Surprisingly (to me) the RXC turbo is quoted at 940KG so a bit porky compared with say a Mk1 Elise.
So a big factor compared to Ultima would be the staggering aero claimed at 900Kg at V max!!

You also need to remember that the Radical factory heavily develops their cars on the race track unlike the Ultima factory.
Jonny at Magtech is developing his Ultima which he races in the Britcar series but Radical spend a lot of money and many hours which will take some catching up.
Just a point on the prices of Radicals, when I bought my first Radical Clubsport in 1997 it cost just over 16k, my Prosport in 1998 cost £26k and my SR3 in 2003 cost £32k.
The RXC is overpriced by at least £40k in my opinion.
If you spec one up to a reasonable level it's nearly £130k.
Having said all that their cars are just amazing to drive and the success of their race series , which has now been going for 16 years, bears testimony to this fact.
Ultimas have over the years been made for the road whereas Radicals were always made for the race track with a few made road legal.

By the time you spec the Radical RXC up to competition spec with the appropriate logging, airjacks etc it is the thick end of £160k (not that I have checked!). If and when this gets the GT3 homologation the chances are that this will jump another chunk.
