Hi, pleasant surprise to see this great looking Sport tangling with the Vipers, 993 RSRs in GT classics.

Apparently first outing in many years - not quite on the pace but finished a creditable sixth

Yes, that's correct, it was a six speed Quaife sequential.

Hi

Can you say which series you saw this Ultima racing in...can't quite identify the circuit from the paddock shots.

We have an Ultima race car we've been rebuilding, and quite fancy having another go before old age finally sets in. Don't really want to get too serious and get involved in stuff like Britcar Endurance or GT Cup, and hence currently aiming at Britcar Trophy (short 30 minute races) and clubbie meetings

Heard also there is a French racing series which may accept an Ultima racing on some of the bigger circuits for when I find my passport

It was at the Nogaro Historic Racing festival in the south west of France.

It is the first year I have seen this series. They could do with a few more cars on the grid, although still an interesting line-up including a Gillet Vertigo, TVR Tuscan, and Honda NSX Turbo.

I'm not sure in what class the Ultima was running as it was an unlisted entry but, apparently, it will be racing again at Dijon in early October.

More detail here, if that's of any help: http://www.hvmracing.fr/index.php?c=24

Thank you very much, yes that's a huge help to us. A French friend of mine had mentioned this series existed and was seeking unusual and interesting cars, and suggested we might try to get a race entry for the Ultima. Now that someone has already "paved the way" an entry should be a great deal easier. The biggest attraction for me was that this series actually races at Le Mans (only the short circuit, I'm afraid), and as actually competing at Le Mans remains on my bucket list, this sounds like a cracking excuse for a long weekend away for a group of us next year in mid-April. Now I'm all excited, counting the number of sleeps and really can't wait!!
