Can any of you LS3 experts advise me on the following: I'm going to order an LS3 crate engine for my Can-Am from PWP, I already have the ECU from them installed in the car and i'm going to get the flywheel, clutch and mounting plate (for my G50 box) from the factory. But when it comes to the engine ancillaries, does the PWP ancillary kit have everything i need or do they supply more parts than required or not enough? Can anyone advise?
Cheers
Pete

Not an LS3 expert but I think very few of the normal LS3 ancillaries are suitable for an Ultima install.

The aircon compressor needs spacing away and longer belts. The alternator (mounted low down) will need lots of different components to get it to fit from various GM US cars along with a few custom bolts/spacers.
I know that Autobionics have done one of these at least, and with a bit of time and research you could source the necessary parts from the US yourself.

Once you have the hardware you just measure the belt route and buy the correct size belt (bearing factors often sell belts too).

DIY should save you approx. 50% of cost of off-the-shelf.

Your ability and confidence will be the deciding factor.

Good luck

one option would be buy the CTS-V Accessory Drive System from pwp, which will give you 90% of whats required, puts alt in a lower position and the air con in lower position as in pic of my engine, but you wont need the steering pump, need to buy the steering pump delete bracket/pulley

and iam not sure if the aircon unit is tight enough in to avoid any fouling issues, don't think u can actually get it in any closer

ahh, i see you have another pulley between the alt and crankshaft, which is instead of my pulley, up on the left hand side, now seeing your pic confirms it would work using the cts-v kit from pwp, using same brackets and pulleys, alt and aircon, just need that extra pulley and a shorter belt, that's good to know

That's great advice guys and those pictures explain everything (it's so true, a picture paints a thousand words!)I also spoke to Jason at AB yesterday and he was extremely helpful and along with everything said above, i now know what's required.
Cheers again.

Looking at the photo, one belt drives the water pump and alternator, the second drives the alternator. Nice to see the ancillaries low down on the engine, but a bit difficult access if you need to intervene on those parts.

One belt drives aircon only and the other drives everything else.

Access is not as bad as you think. Once on the lift it is easy to get at things from underneath.

Oups, indeed that's what I wanted to say but my fingers crossed when typing. More likely my brain had a temporary failure.
