So with record numbers of Ultima's being sold why are there no new members of any quantity on Pistonheads? I purchased my car a year ago and I have noticed that the few new members that were posting have all left. Is there another site? Seems like there would be more participation. So different than other builds I have done. Bueller?

they are all out driving the nuts off them -

as a very long time lurker of the Ultima forum yet dont own one or have started a build (though thats going to change) i feel i couldn't add anything of worth to the forum so just read posts 99.9% of the time.

Still here lurking. Mainly reading as there's plenty of life in the older threads themselves.

Compared to many kitcars the Ultima is both well documented and relatively easy to build due to good design and well presented kit.
Along with the existing threads in here there perhaps is not too much for a new builder to say.

On most forums there are usually 80 % lurk rate so that's to be expected, you just don't see the participation or enthusiasm as other builds like Cobras or GT40's Maybe that because those are re creations/ replica's and the Ultima is it's own brand? Such a high performance car yet such a vapid forum.

I'm still here, been lurking and adding the odd post for the best part of 8 years plus! I initially used the forum to help research the Ultima brand and products prior to purchasing one, not just any one, the very first factory built GTR. Whilst attempting to keep my car as near to original as possible, I still want to use it on the road, track and in competition. I certainly don't expect to win anything, so I'm doing it purely for the fun of it.

Having recently invested in 3 cameras, I now hope to share my experiences on a regular basis on this forum in the hope that it may encourage a few more owners to get their Ultima's out on track. A recent example was the Silverstone Track Day with the Noble owners, they had 15 cars participating with just Mark and myself representing Ultima!

I also have my own web site, where I've provided a lot of information about the work I've done on my car along with plenty of photo's at www.trevorwillardracing.co.uk - I don't post that often on the forum because I just don't have the time. But I do often read posts as I am sure many others do, perhaps 80% of us as suggested!

If nothing else, then I hope my posts will present an example of what you can do with your Ultima. Whether or not you do, well that's up to each and every one of you. To put it very simply, IMHO the Ultima is a road going track car, which is perfectly capable on track (perhaps in the right hands), but you don't have to be an expert to enjoy yourself and you don't have to prove anything to anyone either.

So, what ever it is you want to do with your Ultima, enjoy yourself and tell us all about it on here, please keep on posting. Cheers Trev.
P.S. Still more videos to come from Silverstone - I'll add to the other post ASAP.

Videos are good how do we get piston heads to configure their software to allow us to embed the video's? I know forums like Fchat do this and it makes the forum much more interesting.

You have bought into a very niche single manufacturer car with very limited production, probably still in the hundreds.
There are thousands of cobra / Gt40 clones out in the wild with thousands of owners, each make manufactured a little different to the other vis a vis any build problems aren't going to be the same between different manufacturers therefore more questions over a broad width of cars.
Percentage wise I bet we are right on top of the pile for forum comment, car for car owner for owner.
There's just not enough of us on the road / building to fill forum space.

I've just done a straw poll,
Piston heads forum: All kit cars combined 95,959 posts - Ultima : 107,984 posts. so on PH we are ahead on posts v's ALL kit cars including Cobra's and GT40's.

Thank You T-REV,,
Being a lurker, your info is just great and interesting, although I am in the USA- (USC) to be exact, the United Socialists of California) your site is real and close-up for us who want to purchase this incredible hobby.
Nice to know many owners are here, just not so vocal. Being afar, I would like to see the factory more involved. They seem to only jump in when things get highly opinionated.
Nice to have an updated site rather than another link that has been deleted as so many are in the past.
This is a perfect car for California, if the weather was not so great, I would be outta here!
