Silly question, but should my side skins have come with this radiused relief around the side tubing or am I supposed to produce it somehow? If so, how does one neatly and accurately do so?

Figured I'd ask before beginning the fitting process…

My panels were flat Ken.

Mine are flat, too. That's the puzzler: leave them flat (it's not clear that they'll sit down properly over the side tubing) or try to produce the factory's radiused bend shown in the photo?

Not seem a side panel like that before, but as mentioned ours were flat like yours and fitted.

About to fit my side panels too. Would be very interested in how to achieve that profile.

That panel is the standard fitment if you specified the FIA cage. The standard cage does not need the relief. This may have changed what with the new chassis though...

That change would make sense then as mine is the newer chassis with full cage.

Factory response:

This radiused relief isn't required. It will seat 100% OK without it.
When we factory build a car here our technician always does this as
he's a talented guy and likes to use his skills :-)

But it isn't required and most people wouldn't be able to do it unless
they have some panel beating type skills. He uses a folder to
begin the process.
The new updated chassis roll cage does have larger diameter tubing than
previously but
it will still seat fine without this radiused relief.

I just got up, checked my email, and found a version of that response from Richard. So, it should fit, even over the larger tubing of the uprated chassis. Hopefully. :-)

Worst case scenario there might be a slight bulge in panel but shouldn't be noticeable.

Would you mind sending me some pics of your panel once it is riveted in place so I know what to expect when fixing mine?

Gents, we have the new chassis with the full FIA cage and it's not noticeable.
