I am just completing the build of a (RCR) GT40 replica. Alloy monocoque, 560 bhp Kinsler injected LS7, Quaife ZF-Q weight 1012kilos with fuel, water and oil due for IVA on the 15th Nov (sweet joy). Reason for the post is that the clutch is very heavy for road use and I understand that some of you have fitted clutch servos to your wondrous motors. Some pics or a schematic of a typical installation would help me greatly.
Many thanks in eager anticipation

I have heard that clutch servos can be a bit of a pain in use.I am just completing the build of a (RCR) GT40 replica. have you thought about fitting a smaller / lower ratio master cylinder?
My clutch was a bh to hold until I fitted one, a bit more pedal travel but a whole lot easier on the left leg!
Give Mick a call at Southern GT, he's fitted loads of ZF-Qs and not a servo in sight, there's not too much he doesn't know about them! I'm sure getting a different size or sleeved slave cylinder will sort it fairly quickly.
Congrats on getting to IVA, I can't wait for that moment, seems soooo far away...

What is the "real world" torque figure a ZFQ box can take?I am just completing the build of a (RCR) GT40 replica. I have a genuine interest, I'd like to think my G50/52 is going to outlast my driving but it's in the back of my mind to up the boost on my car for a few track days and V-max events.
I think even with the Turbo box I might be pushing my luck at a likely >650 Ft lbs.

Changing the master cylinder size is the easiest initial option. You will end up with a nice long clutch pedal throw and far less pedal effort.I am just completing the build of a (RCR) GT40 replica. Thanks to those who answered, however I have played around with the master and slave to no avail. Reducing the master, whilst decreasing pedal pressure leaves to little displacement to fully release the clutch. With regards to the Quaife gearbox there are folks running around 600bhp and around 460 lb.ft seemingly without failure (other than one abused example). These are higher numbers than Quaife quote (page 24 of their pdf brochure) but I suspect these are conservative. There are guys running the original ZF at around this power with (I believe) 75mm shaft centres against 85mm on the Q.
I guess Mick Sollis is the best guy to give you chapter and verse on real world usage but last time I spoke with him he had high praise for the Q.
My problem remains, any pics of a clutch servo?
Regards

Thanks to Steve and Hoonigan. I suspect my set up is a little different to Micks as it contains a special one off flywheel/clutch to go from a LS7 crank bolt pattern to a Ford dimensioned flywheel (required by the bell housing). In principal should not make a difference but loathed (at this stage) to try a different (softer) clutch.
