Hi all, my gtr has been on the road a month now, the kit is at least 6 years old, and it's been a rolling chassis for 5 years, I love it!! The power, noise, drama, brakes, everything I want in a specialist car, the only dislike I have is the constant, loud, creaking noise, I know it's a self build super car, but the noise is so loud you can't hear the exhaust!! It's coming from the suspension, just jacking the car up makes the same din, or rolling gently into the garage. Is it just a case of dismantling the suspension and lubing everything ( can you even do that to the bushes ) or is it a specific joint?

I had this very problem.
Inspected and changed all suspension bushes.
There was wear on the rears, not much at the front but these are not exactly expensive to replace so that's what I did, fantastic no more creak!
FYI the factory supply lube with the bush kit so they can be lubed up.
ETS caution with type of lube, I think the factory stuff is silicone based, beware some mineral grease types may degrade the plastic and turn them brittle/soggy!

Cheers for that Tony, the bushes on mine can't be worn but they must have dried out over time.

The chassis acts as a sound transmitter (only way I can think of saying it!) and a noise from one place can seem to be coming from somewhere else.

You could try re-lubricating a corner at a time, then test. You will know which corner(s) are causing the problem and it may even save time in the future if it returns.

Good advise, I'll lube one corner at a time, pinpoint the problem, if it's persistant, consider nipples. Cheers.

Had a similar problem on my GTR years ago. Squeak from who knows where. Happened to but my hand up where the roll gage comes through the firewall and realized two things the tube was rubbing on the fiberglass and a lot of hot air comes through at that point. trimmed the glass back and then added a split rubber seal around the tube on the engine side. squeak gone hot air abated. Funny thing is getting rid of that squeak was one of the more rewarding things I have ever done on the car. amassing that it should make that much difference in your enjoyment of the car but it does. Yes..... NIPPLES to you all wink - worthwhile mod! Did it during the build and cheap too!
Still got some spare (somewhere!)... if anyone wants!

the latest factory bushes have a small cross hatch pattern to retain more grease and should cure the creaking noise

I'd need to double check but I'm pretty sure I have a full set of Bushes (Red) and Sleeves that have been fitted but then removed before the car was driven in my garage. PM if interested.
