Just been looking at the Weineck engine mentioned, what a feat of engineering!
780Cu/12.9L. Bp shares, anyone? wink
1100bhp and yikes 1300 ft.lbs or 1760Nm all shoehorned into a cobra.
Madness.

if we want to be silly why not look at nelson race engines... turbo packages, 1500 hp upwards. and seen 2500hp motors on American Hotrod

Pfft check out Steve Morris' 3000++ BHP BBC engines in both supercharger and Trubo setups. In fact they are currently making an intake manifold for Red Victor 3! smile

I don't look for a quarter mile engine...
You have to get the power on the road and make a turn with it...

I don't see anything above 700hp as added value on track.

mmm im not sure about that.. im running upwards of 600 hp and feel there is lots of oppotunities for more hp on a track like silverstone...

as speed increases so does rear down force so putting the power down not a problem, but yes 8540 hp on a gocart track i can imagine restrictive... a 1000 hp at silverstone i recon would be fab

Sorry merten's we were just messing about. Would NOT recommend a Steve Morris BBC Procharged motor for an Ultima. mainly because even if you could get the engine to fit in the engine bay you would have to cut a 24inch whole in the windshield for the supercharger inlet. smile

However they do make some interesting LS stuff. Including a drop in forged assembly that they have tested to over 1000bhop with stock heads and intake (with boost).

An I was not being serious about using a 27 litre V12 Rolls Royce Meteor tank engine in an Ultima.

Now if you happen to have a RR Phantom III chassis, that's another matter.
