After spending £35 getting the rear tyre refitted, new valve and balance due to corosion on the rim i have just found this. Michelin PS2 for £131 (335/30/18). Should have replaced the rears!

That has got to be a mistake. They should be nearer £300.

If they will supply at the advertised price they must be worth putting into stock.

Yes, that looks too good to be true. Be careful with the DOT year - believe its the year of manufacturer. What about compounds, are they the ones recommended and sold by the factory.

How long can you keep tyres in storage without them degrading before fitting and using?

yes just off the phone to my Tyre man. These ones are DOT 2010. Apparently when the tyre reach 5 years old retailers cant sell them as new. My mates company usually returns stock to the manufacturers before that point, but it this case they are looking to get rid of. He also said that Michelin recommend you should change tyres when they reach 10 years old, so certainly if you have matching fronts and need a set of back tyres, Get these! I do have michelins but my back tyres are good and these are big things to store so may give it a miss! You can see they are selling other ones same spec but nor DOT 2010 at 265 per tyre.

The main threat to stored tires is U.V. so if you store tires in heavy trash bags and a dark spot that should help, but putting a set date would be really hard to do. Lee
