Where to get an Idler Pully for Poly-V Belt?
Discussion
Might anyone have a good source for an Idler Pulley for Poly-V Belt (multi-grooved)?
It needs to be high quality, preferable aluminium with a high quality bearing. If that's not possible a stock one (anyone have a new one kicking around from crate engine?).
One of my other idlers blew up (bearing failure) and want to change the remaining one to make sure I don't have a problem with it.

Hi Tony.
Can you remind me what engine you are running?
That does not look a very good design. The flat metal bracket will brace in a straight down load but as the revs rise and fall there will be stress in the unsupported directions taking the pulley out of line and 'loading' the bearing.

Thanks very much Lee, that is a very kind offer.
I got the old one off today. I been concentrating on removing the gearbox to do a rear main seal that is weeping ever so slightly (as fellow aviation colleague, you know if it's not 100% right you've got to fix it).
I'm going to take it my machinist to see what he'll charge to make a custom aluminum one up. He did a beautiful job on the other pulley I needed.
I'll look at him doing new aluminum mount as well as the old one is functional rather than pretty and is fairly heavy for what it is.
If I still need a stock one I'll be in touch (mine has 6 grooves).

Ended up getting one made up. It wasn't cheap by a long stretch but it's 1000 times better.
Before
Plastic stock pulley, with a single row ball bearing and a frankly shocking bracket (the weld wasn't even complete!). Paul was spot on with that.
After
Machined aluminium pulley, double row ball bearing and a 6082 T6 machined and TIG welded bracket.
