Hi all,

Has anyone fitter LED number plate lights to their car? If so what did you use? Been looking at some aftermarket Audi ones or motorbike units but not sure what would look best.

Also did you have any problems with IVA or MOT?

Cheers,
Mart

Yes, I found some neat bolt in ones. Never had a problem at MOT. I 'll see if I can find a link

Something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-White-LED-Screw-Light...

They mount my numberplate as well.

Talking of number plate lights, I don't recall having seen them in my order. OK I may still have to find them at the bottom of a remaining box. Do they come automatically or is it a special order?

I had filament bulb but just replaced with these..... seem to work well but just remember LED bulb only work one way round in terms of polarity.

Thanks for the replys chaps. I'm going to have to get something this weekend as the car is in final assembly now. I think I'll look at the BMW LED ones. Something like these..

Not sure if that link will work. Basically BMW replacement LED ones...

Factory ones are LEDs. I doubt they are very expensive (they came as part of the rear lights kit when I built the car).

Probably worth a call to Andy at the factory.

Hi Mark,

What do they look like? Most of my car is modified including all the rear lights so never bought the original ones..

Cheers,
Mart

Best I could get. One from outside, one from inside. Note - they are pretty thin.

Hopefully these are slightly useful at least!

My light is perfect in the dark, but in day light is not seen & MOT guy noted was not working. Local family friend so had him round to check again. Not having that typed up on my MOT cert!
