I wonder how softening the lines & the larger vents have on the overall aerodynamics.
I also wonder the same. The car design I would think is crucial to it's overall performance (on the street & track days that is) Full-on racing is out of my league & beyond, but if we look at the
"track records" why redesign it?
I understand the want to update it and the front could use it, but I wouldn't want to alter it for the sake of looks only. Would the larger open front also affect strength?

Maybe the older Vette, which means the Vette looks like an Ultima
The new Vette looks like a Disco ball

Opinions? Suggestions? smile
Concerns regarding IVA?
Nice design!
But keep in mind the 500 mm minimum headlamp height.

Some 2 months back there was a discussion on lamps (Nolden/Hella):

Wrt alternative front design: what do you think of Jon Olsson's R1k?

Well - as Confucius said: "De gustibus non est disputandum" - or was it Nietzsche? smile

Anyway: how about this...

Might be a stupid question, but trying to figure which headlights i can use.

Want to use LED headlights and am looking at the Nolden catalogue right now:
http://www.noldengmbh.de/docs/Nolden_Programm_2014...

First of all: What do i need?
Low + High beam?
Fog lights and position isn't necessary for IVA (TÜV)?

Hence my current choice would be:
70mm high beam (13W) (page 43 at nolden)
90mm series 900, low beam (25W) (page 34)

Are these powerful enough and is that all i need (apart from indicators)?
E.g. the 90mm Bi-LED headlights (page 33) have 50W high beam and 40W low beam. Looks much more powerful, or am i wrong?

I'd imagine a 50w LED light would be v bright.

Out of interest, how much are the 90mm lights?

Right now I'd be looking at what units the factory are supplying for the Evolution.

Well done. Great project by the look of it. I would love to do something similar to the front of my Sport

It looks like you made a completely new front end mould?

Yes, we modified the original hood.
When we finished the changes we created a mould from that,
and made a new carbon hood to save some weight...

The rear view mirrors just look very much out of place now (Mickey Mouse 🐭). Some wing mounted mirrors would look better IMO

I love this type of project - well done for giving it a go smile

I agree with the masses - angular doesnt work on the swoopy body, unless you're going Ford "Hard edge design" which has curves cut off by a slash.

Pug 206 Morette worked well mounted upside down for the Ascari - try something similar? Have you thought of using something eye-shaped like a puma or Cougar headlamp. The Cougar could be rotated slightly to make it more like a TVR Speed12.

Watching with great interest - keep up the good work spin

(Don't us as Puma light - they are worse than candles in jam jars)

Out of interest, how much weight did you save? and was it prep-preg or wet layup?
