I need to ease the nearside rose joint out about 3mm. I have the car on axle stands and hoped to get at the 2 nuts for this adjustment. From the bottom the floor is in the way from the top the radiator seams to be in the way. Do I need to remove the clip completely to sort this?

You can adjust it without removing anything, RacingRoj. If no one else responds shortly. I'll nip down to the garage to remind myself how to do it, but if I recall you can access it through the air inlet hole in the clip for the radiator.

You could do it that way - but unless you prop the front clip well, you risk losing the accuracy of the vertical position. Also simply undoing the two nuts and pulling the rose-joint out a bit is not very accurate. I would prefer to loosen the nuts in the picture, withdraw the clip bolt whilst the clip is well supported, and rotate the rose joint which gives you a known amount of movement for each turn. Good luck with whichever method you use.

Thanks for the picture and info Kelvin. Apart from removing the clip completely I don't think I can get at the locking nut behind the frame to allow me to rotate the rose joint to give the forward movement I need, and even then I'm not sure if it will accessible. I didn't build it so I don't know how it went together.

You don't need to rotate the rose joint just undo the nut behind the chassis flange and tighten the one in front of the flange.
However, in doing so you will loose the vertical alignment. To avoid this position a strip of steel vertically beneath the rose joint and support it on a trolly jack or blocks of wood. The idea is to prevent the joint dropping when you undo the nuts.

It is possible to access the nuts with the clip in position.
