Ultima cost is always a tricky subject..... I'm sure that if you pared it back, built yourself and were happy to go with a Q-plate, you could do it under £40K. To build yourself in LS3 trim, I'd expect builds to start from £50K. From there, however, things can go on & on & on, if you get carried away with extras / aftermarket bits etc smile

Not sure what the factory built "base" (LS3?) price is tho'. I presume there would be at least £10K for their labour??

Rather than expect an answer to the massively open ended price question, I'd suggest doing research and speaking to the factory / various suppliers. If the price is too high/low for your desired spec, you can tweak options from there. There is no exact answer, basically!

I don't think 10k labour would cover things, but I agree with your comments and each build will vary by some margin in terms of costs

I imagine the prices mentioned in this thread are without VAT. What is the current rate in the UK? Is it still 18?

Yes, plus a drop in the pound against the euro would help to offset that for us euro residents smile

Could be 40% in England if we get a Labour / SNP coalition (only 5% in Scotland though).

I think we are in for some pain whoever gets in!

To avoid confrontation in the Polling Stations it has been decided that anyone voting Conservative should go to Vote on Thursday, and anyone intending to vote for any of the other parties should go to vote on Friday. Seems reasonable.

I believe the factory asks £25k to build a car. Correct me if I'm wrong.

build time x hourly rate + vat so sounds about right. I was quoted 20k+VAT but i'm not sure if that included SVA

On the subject of weight just a little point to demonstrate how the Ultima has evolved:

The dry weight of a pre 2013 manufactured LS powered Ultima GTR was 930kg.
The dry weight of a 2013 onwards LS powered Ultima GTR was 939kg as 9kg was added (21 new chassis members) to make a 553% torsional rigidity improvement on the pre 2013 chassis.

Enter the Ultima Evolution which now has lightweight forged wheels (8kg lighter) and we are now back to a 931kgs dry weight as well as having the 553% stiffer chassis PLUS the weight saving is made in the un-sprung weight of the vehicle.

This is just one more minor item to demonstrate how the Ultima has been vastly improved yet retains the same level of price point.

Regards to all,
Was just reading through this recent posting reminding myself of some of the design details of the Ultima Evolution, and one question I have is what is the unsprung total weight of the new car?

950kg is 100% correct as a dry weight for the 1020bhp supercharged Ultima Evolution Coupe demo car.
The LS powered Evo Coupe built to factory specification with air con and all the usual Ultima trim is 930kg.

The new one piece forged wheels look like they will fit a car with the standard A-arms, is that true?

Ken

I think the Factory now do a choice of A arm lengths, so I suspect they do the wheels to fit both offsets.
