i have another question... why are the wing brackets/ billet uprights so un-aerodynamic?

im supprised with aero being so important they are not modified/ evo compared to the past.... aka zonda small. thin. neat

the more i look at the photos, the more i love the new car... cant wait to see it in the flesh

Congrats to all the new mods.

I'm wondering how much space the supercharging takes:

It looks like you lose at least 20-30 centimeters in the cockpit? So the seats have to be pulled to the front and it is only suitable for smaller drivers?

What do you think?

It is not a problem, the seat position is going up to the rollcage and this alu panel is behind the rollcage. But you have the belt of the compressor 10-20cm from your ear.

This engine is a monster, it is definitely too much for me!

When I first saw the title of this post, I feared it would reveal a totally new model, as happened when the GTR replaced the Sport. As it happens, it appears to be a rather nice cosmetic make over for the GTR and Can Am, with a few improvements to quality of components etc. I assume the running gear etc. is identical to the GTR, and that spares will be available for current GTR and Can Am models.

Interesting to see that the New Evolution Model (NEM) uses a blown LS7 over the LSA option. Factory says that this choice was made to obtain a higher revving engine (greater top speed potential) with a better oil lubrication using the dry sump which goes with the LS7.
No reason the LSA wouldn't fit and work, however the blower is only 1.9ltr as apposed to the 3.85 ltrs that's used on the current supercharged car. smile The internals of the LS7, assuming it is an LS7 block and not an aftermarket one, will need to be replaced as the comp. ratio is to high and the rods / pistons won't take the load.

The bigger bore of the LS7 also allows better flowing heads with less valve shrouding which will help make more power than the smaller bore of the LSA or LS9. So this allows a lower boost to be run to make the same power.

The LS9 block is actually probably stronger than the LS7 (more material around the bores, better material, same oiling I think), but they cost.
The 1020bhp engine has a 4.065" bore LS9 block, 4.00" stroke aftermarket steel crank and rods, L92 cylinder heads, custom 8.0 comp forged pistons.

The LSA is totally the wrong engine choice for an Ultima in our view. More suited to a heavyweight cruiser type vehicle which is what it was designed/intended for.

Thanks for confirming the specs! Sounds like a stout setup and one that has made a lot of power in corvette ZR1s in the US. They tend to run a little more comp. ratio but then they are stuck with the TVS2300 blower. This engine has a little more blower than that! smile

Was the 1020bhp figure with the intake setup you run in the car? It looks very pretty but there are a lot of turns in it.

Always loved these, since my Dad took me to a Kit Car show when I was young!

Well done Ultima for continuing to supply this car and continuously evolving it!

Seems like a lot of car for the money when the base model starts at less than a Porsche GT4, factory built.

I am definitely going to have a long think about one of these in the next year or so.

Website is down, this is maybe a sign and could be a bad news.
Will Ultima be a victim of their success?
I hope it will not change the company we are used to.

Things have changed already! Factory too busy promoting the Evo and not having enough time to respond to emails anymore!

This is simply a server issue and not related to Ultima as such. We will never change you know that smile
See the response we received from our provider who have technicians on the case now:

"The issue you are facing is due to shared server Inetc1474 is down, our level 3 technician are working on it, to resolve the issue. I request you to please follow the below status page link for further updates:

I hope you will never change! You know your visit intensity on your website, this is a good indication.

Communication with internet can go crazy within some hours and I feel that you have reached this spot. I was looking for the Ultima since many years, then after the purchase of mine, I saw that the product is awesome and the community is great. I was always surprised by the limited success, maybe because the factory wanted to keep something manageable without excessive growth, thus risks. All what the factory needed to expand is a good marketing move. They did it by announcing a "new model".

We were used to the answers of Richard within a couple of hours. Let's see, they promised an answer within the next 7-10days!

This is true for this week as we have been overwhelmed fielding thousands of press questions and new customer enquiries but when you launch a fantastic product this is to be expected and is all very positive smile Type "Ultima Evolution Supercar" into google to see how much coverage has already occurred in just 48 hours!

Rest assured we will return to 100% normal service next week as from next Monday onwards all emails will be answered within 24 hours Monday to Friday. Our customers will always take priority here at Ultima but please just give us 7 days to resume to normal.

Called the Factory this morning and had a chat with Ted. Things are rather busy but then talked to Andy regarding parts. He didn't have the answer there and then, but called me back with the information within the hour and the parts will be with me tomorrow.

Emails may be an issue but they are operating as normal behind the scenes.

I'm sure many if us who are either building or upgrading have emailed the factory with questions about the new parts available. As said they are being inundated by enquiries from all over the world and will reply to all within 7-10 days. We need to give them some breathing room. This success and interest is good for all who own an Ultima.

I called the factory for some build tips today and as usual Andy was very helpful. I think all the new mods look great, and will use these for my build, I think the dust will settle quickly and it will be business as normal.

'Charlie' (No.1 son) of tyre kip fame is now 9 - ten this year!

That's great and depressing in equal measure.

He is showing spanner interest, but not as much as his younger brother (age 4)

Regards to all,
'thousands of press questions' ?

Speaking as someone who launches cars for a living, I obviously need to adopt your PR strategy Richard smile
