Nothing like a bank holiday for a bit of progress. I had steeled myself for putting the engine in the car to be a major exercise, so was relieved to find it dropping into place requiring only little persuasion, all in less than an hour - and most of that was messing about with the strap to lift the engine, and realising that where I had placed axle stands to jack the car up (so I could get the legs of the crane far enough under) were in the way of said legs.

My cheapo engine crane was flexing a bit though - had the arm on the longest setting though, but it is supposed to be good for 500kg - not sure about that!

Couple of pics attached - not entirely sure just having done up the two engine mounting bolts really qualifies as having fitted the engine, but it's a nice morale booster after a lot of faff with the dash and electrics (all self inflicted).

Old engine levitation trick:

In place! All downhill from here on (maybe....).

Interesting choice of engine the LSA with the factory standard blower. Although I fancy its not standard now. I would be interested to see how you get on with it when your car is finished.

Yep should be interesting! Not exactly factory endorsed and I respect that, and an LS7 is a technically superior engine, no doubt.

That said, it's an LS series engine at the end of the day, and a bit of internet searching reveals it is very similar to an LS3 with some upgraded components and additional features to manage the extra power, and a lower compression ratio to accommodate the blower (like any engine with forced induction).

With 620bhp from some minor tuning, all at a price point which worked (a bit better...) for me (my budget was more LS3 than LS9) I can't see it being anything other than a lot of fun.

Will let you know once I have driven it!

Great progress Chris!

The installation looks really good, very neat indeed and I love the colour of the plenum and rockers.

See you also went for the intank fuel system, are you using the Dash2Pro to control the tank levels?

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Ian - good to hear from you! Well spotted on the in tank fuel system. The ECU controls the high pressure pump in the right hand side tank and the Dash2Pro does indeed control the low pressure pump, and will move the fuel over to from left to right in accordance with a little user changeable formula in the software.

No separate external pumps or swirl pot keeps things nice and neat.

I assume this is the AB fuel system. Looks great and does with a nice tidy install with little piping.

Yep - better(ish) picture here, albeit with still some tidying to do!
