For anyone following this thread with interest, my latest update is that I am getting a set of canards to copy and so I should shortly be able to offer prepreg carbon versions for anyone interested and I will put them in the classifieds section when they are available, it may take a couple of weeks to sort them out so be patient, although you can let me know in advance if you want me to contact you with a price and availability when I'm closer to being able to supply.
Also, for anyone wanting side scoops, I would suggest getting in touch with Russell because although I do intend to produce some, they will be a completely different and totally new design (which may not to be everyone's taste) and as such, it may also take me a while before I have anything available, so hopefully Russell will continue to make and sell his so that there is a choice of designs out there for us... That's definitely a new concept for Ultima owners! wink

What are the positive and negative effects of the carbon side scoops? and do rear diffusers help at all?

I can't see much benefit of a diffuser on a standard Ultima other than aesthetics. Need a flat floor to work correctly and the rear needs to be much lower. And if it did work you'd need to balance the front out.

Jonny has data on side scoops. Lower intake and underclip temps I think

You mean apart from looking great biggrin

From memory, we saw a significant drop in inlet air temps and under clam temps, I would have to dig out the data, but it is documented on one of the many threads on here about temperatures and side scoops etc.

If you want side scoops, all you need to do is Google 'Ultima GTR Side Scoops'

TO give some balance, you probably get a bit more drag at high speed.

No not at all - hence 'probably', meaning you may lose a couple of mph off your Vmax - but this is complete conjecture and I have nothing at all to base it on!

I have moulds I made for Graham P's car for side scoops.... not interested in selling any as my view is if people can't 'spare the time' to make stuff themselves then I can't either (as I'm a hobbyist), but if people come round I am prepared to lend them my moulds and equipment along with training and advice and they can make their own Vac formed carbon parts.

Im in essex suffolk area
