GRrrrrrrrr. Having spent last night putting the gearbox back in, i went to install the clutch fork pivot and the far side spat it's roller bearings. Have any of you guys had any joy trying to refit the rollers without (once again) removing the flippin gearbox?

I'm so hacked off I HAD to walk away from the car!

Been there, done that, more than once.

Yes you can stand the rollers back up again but it takes lots of patience.

Plenty of grease is the answer.

Thanks Steve - So the problem last night was that the 1/4" extension bar i was using was slightly magnetized - not helpful. I'll have another play tonight - wish me luck!

So happy to report that all the rollers are back where they should be.... struggling with re-fitting the shaft right now but nothing a glass of wine and some quality head scratching won't fix cool

How are you holding the pivot bar?

I find a length of M6 studding screwed in the end works best.

So happy to report I got this sorted on Wednesday evening. Solution? Pot of grease ,10" punch (used to insert the rollers), an LED flashlight and an endoscope!!!!!

The endoscope was one of those tools that I bought a couple of years ago, thinking "that'll come in handed one day". Using it I was able to peer through the shaft opening all the way through to check as each roller was inserted correctly. Flipping glad I did as on a couple of occasions they were misaligned and there's no way you could have seen before I attempted to insert the shaft.

So rear clip on and off for an MOT this week. Fingers crossed the dreaded oil leak has been fixed.

Sadly not Roger - decided not to this year. All being well (and subject to the other Abbott pulling his finger out with SVA), we'll see you at the factory open day instead.

Travel safe and hope you have a good time.
