I am not suggesting that I agree with the higher prices but a few thoughts for other owners.

If you go out and buy another manufacturers product with a similar performance then check out the price of some of their parts.

If Porsche can charge you £200+ for painting your new Carrera key the same colour as the body then Ultima parts are still realistic.

This is not to say the Factory can get away with big price hikes. But we all know that volume numbers give better prices, and stocking only one of each item is more cost effective.

I am sorry if selling low margin side windows eats into Ted's pension fund, but sometimes you need a loss leader to keep customers happy!!!

Agreed with your last comment, but the one reason Porsche can do that an Ultima can't (excluding the fact the Ultima key looks like a cheap padlock key wink) is brand image. It's why they can charge stupid money for little things like stitch colour too.
And Porsche options are positively Aldi like compared toFerrari and McLaren!

Ultima factory said:
The side screens have been upgraded and changed in specification several times over the years to meet differing rule changes worldwide.
They were originally manufactured in 3mm Perspex and uncoated. The current ones are made in 4mm Lexan which is a shatter proof material. We then more recently got them coated both sides with a clear scratch resistant coating. Then there is the whole E mark saga too.

The bottom line is that we had been selling these items as spares at a loss for some time so clearly needed to raise the price. The current price is only possible by manufacturing them all to the same specification in bulk. They are still a very low margin item anyhow so we won't be talking anybody into a purchase of them smile

Regards to all,
thankyou
matter of interest are the older 3mm ones still available to us secondhand owners, as i cant justify spending that one replacing my side windows, its just too expensive and all i really want to do is move my possition of the side vents.

I am dissapointed, and feel especially sorry for those builders half way through their build. Building a car from the scratch requires planning and for alot of us, we have to save our pennies to be able to afford it. Thats why the phases you designed were such a good idea. ...a bit at a time when you could afford it. I am dissapointed the prices have been removed off the website for everyone to see, and now hidden, and then have secretly risen in price which ''might '' mean some builders cant afford to build their cars any more.

I feel things like these price rises must be made more public rather than stubbled upon when we want something.. bit unfair guys!

So it looks like I will need to upgrade to the newer E version (kit dates back to end of 2012) as the Swiss will certainly want to see the latest E stamps. I may consider selling the older version in the original packaging.

Incorrect. The prices are fixed for all current builders, we haven't increased the price of the package phase that includes the side screens.

Yes sure we have some old stock left of the previous versions which could be fitted to older cars at just £105/pair for anybody that prefers these, feel free to contact us.

Regards
Thats great news.. why didnt you say that within your last post...i ll email you thanks Richard

Factory is not a correct behavior!

I have made an order 19 February 2016, and you told me that there was only the new version (I had asked if it was possible to have the old ,because mine were in 2010).
I insisting, I have them discounted at 180GB.

Now I read that there is still the old version to 105gb !!!! rage

in addition to the doubled prices of all other components, such as luggage from 150GB to 320GB !!!!
I had to give up because in Italy they cost half.

and so for all the other many components ..... in fact you have taken away from the site ,price list ....

although as I have already written, i and my friends with gtr, have various global estimates of some previous months (NOT YERS)!

an owner MUST have price certainty when (re)constructs his gtr because nobody likes to leave the job half done and I wanted to have more possible original components.

it is true that in Italy there are only less than 10 gtr, however, is not the way to act if it interests even sell here!
