All cars seem to have the oil cooler mounted at an angle whereas the aircon one is vertical(maybe due to it size). Is there any reason for this? I cannot think of one.
I am fitting individual intank fuel pumps and need to drill @3.5 inch holes in the sloping part of the tanks. Hence I need the oil cooler vertical.

Mine was vertical..... before I removed it completely as I also have an oil-over-water cooler and felt it unnecessary.

Not sure how effective they are without a fan anyway.

Mine hasn't, my engine would run too cool if I had one, but then I only have 355hp!

Yes mine is standard factory supplied cooler with a stat and it is at an angle - pretty much the angle of the side of the fuel tank that sits underneath it I think.

How many people run oil temp Gauges? It doesnt seem to be part of the Std Factory set up, I'll probably get one to help decide if I need an oil cooler.

My oil gets v hot when car is used on track but in normal road use stays too cold (@60 deg C) even with an oil stat!
