As I'm getting ready (at last!!) to mount the center section, I thought it might be prudent to install the wiper motor now, rather than add it to the list of "head down under the dash" tasks for later. Connecting the wires down there will be bad enough. So…

The wiper motor appears to have one driven arm and one slave arm. Likewise the pantograph wiper unit, itself. Which side is which? I'm assuming that the motor's driven arm will support the wiper arm that holds the blade. If that's correct, then (on my LHD car), the motor's drive arm will go on the right side, which is where the blade will be parked when not in motion. Does that sound right?

The factory drilled two pilot holes for the wiper motor's studs, but I still need to drill the third one for the washer nozzle. That hole, I'm guessing, should go on the driver's (left) side of the other two, correct? At what spacing from the next hole?

Those two wheel well closure panels still haven't fit themselves…

Just to make you think before you attach the centre section. Take a look at what I did to mine (I know a few others have done the same). It makes access to the pedals etc. so much easier.

Glad you asked this question as I was thinking the same. Out of interest do you mount the rubber washers under the cockpit or on top under the 2 plastic cover caps. I drilled my washer jet 45mm to the drivers side of my wiper so slightly offset from centre, have you the wiper that is parked centrally when off?
And yes I think driven arm is the one that has the wiper blade on it, going from build cd

Paul,

Thanks for the suggestion. I've seen those access panels done before and yours came out great. That said, I don't think I can bring myself to cut into my gorgeous bodywork. Hopefully, I won't need to spend too much time in the footwells in the future.

He said, whistling past the graveyard…
