Morning,

I'm considering coming back to Ultima ownership, after a few years away, having previously owned a GTR for 7 yrs. I see that the yellow car has been for sale for sometime & wondered if anyone know about it's history, before I approach the owner - Thanks.

Hi Simon
I believe it belongs to a guy named Russ who has something to do with organising the cholmondeley pageant of power. Before that I think it was built by Simon Booker. I haven't seen it in the flesh but Simon is a very good engineer so I would expect it to be well built. He built the dash which is a nice bit of work. It also has a fuel injected LS3 engine which is now the engine of choice along with the LS7. If I was in the market for a GTR I would definitely be going to see it. The fact that it has been up for sale for a while isn't an issue, it's such a small market that you could wait months to sell the best one ever built. As you have had ownership before I'm sure you know what you are looking at.

I think it's an LS2 not 3.

I've seen it in the flesh, not properly inspected as I didnt need to, but from what I saw it was very nicely built with obvious thought to the improvements made. Dash and AC are very nice.

I saw that GTR at the FOD in 2012 and it was up to sale at the time. If I remember Simon sold it then. Looked very well built.

Nice..! Moquitos? (And if so can you tell a bit about them? Self build/factory finished?- Would be lots on interest in the planes sub-forum, (unless I've missed it))

Totally Of Topic (cause I would be sure Russ's car was a great car to own and obviously all the best GTR's have LS2 engines) wink

Russ, after our last email discussion about helicopters.. guess what ... biggrin

Hi all.
Re erecting an old thread here. But this sounds like the GTR that could be coming up for sale after an off.
Any ideas.
Wouldn't mind considering looking at it. ?

Many thanks Tris.

After an off? Does that mean off the road? In this case it is necessary to know who repaired the vehicle. If it was the factory, then I would guess you can go ahead with eyes shut.

My helicopter of choice. But I didn't have to pay for the helicopter or the parts or the insurance. This was on a fire in 2003 but it is a great picture. Lee
