It wasn't the fluid. As I said, I've had that happen before on another car, it wasn't the same issue.... the pedal went spongy, it didn't go to the floor. This isn't something I've had before (either at Spa or the Ring), but then again I have only done a few gentle laps there, (with plenty of coasting!) whereas I know Silverstone better, so was pushing the car harder on it's much more sorted suspension.

Not sure why pads would make the pedal spongy though? Be interesting to see what you find as the cause.

But if you're doing trackdays, rs29s are very good. I think Jonny at macg prefers the 19s though.

Do you have brake servos?

Nope, I'm going to swap the pads over the winter, to generally get some better feel & feedback from the car.

What pads & tyres are others using?

RS29s here. Good on road and track, 19s apparently good too.

Kumho v70s for wet weather thrills.

My Kumho's were illegal for road use after 2 trackdays!

Still think it is worth having two sets of wheels.

Really? The central primary grooves were illegal and belowwear bars, or was it the outer secondary grooves? They can be pretty much like slicks and still be legal. Not great when wet of course!

Mine were almost slicks. Complete with rolls of rubber stuck to the tread.

Had them on one day and had to drive home in torrential rain. Never again. No fun at all.

Had to drive like Miss Daisy.

Miss Daisy or her chauffeur? I wonder how Miss Daisy would look like in a GTR...
