Cuts a dash does our Richard... All we need now is a ring video
Does the gear change really go 'snick' like that?
Driver looks too young to be Richard Does the gear change really go 'snick' like that?
Having drones these days means vids are a lot cheaper to produce thankfully, so even a small concern like Ultima can get decent production value (though marketing has definitely been more prevalent of late since the introduction of the Evo).
Good work factory, now just sort out the horrible 70's logo on the car
Nicely shot video. Seriously though does anyone other than the factory believe customers will achieve the quoted 0-60 or 0-100 in theirs however? Will we see them backed up in public and officially in a customer car with its driver? Not being funny its a fabulously quick car no doubt but I've been in huge horsepower 4wd cars that run 9s 1/4s that wont match that. I assume the quoted figures are already publicly available with logs?

Chris Harris at it again. I love his videos.Come on Richard
sorry for bringing this up, but no one commented on the new "claimed" performance figures and one thing has always intrigued me about the claims for the previous model, taken from the Ultima site
700bhp 7000cc LS7 V8 ULTIMA EVOLUTION
0-60mph: 2.6 secs (World Record)
0-100mph: 5.3 secs (World Record)
30-70mph: 1.8 secs (World Record)
0-150mph: 10.4 secs (World Record)
0-100-0 mph: 9.4 secs (World Record)
Standing quarter mile: 9.9 secs @ 143mph
Top speed: 200+ mph (gearing limited)
Top Gear Track: 1min12.8 secs (road tyres) 1min 9.9 secs (slicks)
were these figures ever independently verified, and if so where etc? any links?
and which world records, ratified by who?
i've always heard the top gear test track claim but genuinely interested in how the other world records were set and ratified. or maybe i'm just asking on the wrong forum?

just out of interest, here are the figures (v box) we posted on saturday at Vmax in the 9e xx Porsche turbo, from one of its runs (not its best ever or on the day)
0-110mph in 8s, 0-150mph in 12.8s, 0-180mph 18.6s, 0-200mph 24s.
213.6 on that run at brunters.
best run it did on the day was 6.7s to 100, 22s to 200mph and 217mph top speed. one of the 9e porsche turbos is still the record holder for v max events in the uk as far as i know.
all the above times and speeds two up, on michellin road tyres in a fully trimmed road legal car for comparsion, weighing in around 1400kg.

So that Porsche takes 1.3s 60-110 but 4.8 110-150? That doesn't sound right, 600ish hp LS 7 Ultima is about the same (not the 60-110 time unfortunately!)
Using my painted, trimmed, AC'd LS7 car as an example it has been vboxed 0-60 in 3 (am too mechanically sympathetic to get it below), 60-100 in 2.6.
I too would like to see the figures with data, not just claims. Chop chop Richard

The 60-110 figure can't be right? 8 seconds to 110, that would make it 6.7s to 60?Using my painted, trimmed, AC'd LS7 car as an example it has been vboxed 0-60 in 3 (am too mechanically sympathetic to get it below), 60-100 in 2.6.

The porsche does a rolling start not a hard launch as its on a rebuilt box, and is shifted early to save it. Once rolling its given full beans. Road tyres too. Basically once its doing abouf 30 all hell breaks loose. It isnt really doin all it can till after then. We raced a 918 spyder that whupped us to 170mph till we reeled it in and passed it at 204mph. That was cool!
Well spotted. I'll go to specsavers then learn to read
So the Porsche is boost limited yet still does 0-100 in 6.7, that's pretty impressive. I'd expect 100+ most normal Ultimas wouldn't stand a chance.
Porker turbos are great bases for crazy quick cars.
So I guess the factory need to go a vmax to prove the figures can be back up eh? Sounds like a good idea to me.
