Afternoon
Has anyone fitted a remote oil filter to an LS7? If so where did you source it from.
Thanks

I was advised to stick with the stock location.

As well there's less things to go wrong, less weight and perhaps less pressure drop.

This also from someone who changes filters after 1 or 2 days on the track where a remote filter would be handy.....

On that subject I cut them open each time and you'd be surprised what crap is in them especially when new or after a rebuild.

Thanks for your input. My problem is that to remove the filter one of the engine mounts needs to ba loosened to allow the filter to be removed hence the original question.

I have some filters that I bought off the factory that don't need you to do anything with the mounts. I guess they might be slightly lower profile. This is an LS7 in a GTR (old chassis).

Yes, use a Wix filter which is just slightly beveled and fits much more easily. A slight nudge of the engine upward while slipping in the filter is all it takes.

Use a take off plate and a remote filter kit - all available from thinkauto http://www.thinkauto.com/
