Unsprung weight per corner?
Discussion
Hello All,
Does anyone know or has measured the weight of the individual wishbones, dampers, springs, uprights, AP brake calipers, disc's etc front & rear. I am trying to calculate the unsprung weight per corner. Have some ball park figures, just want to improve on my accuracy. May be someone near the beginning of the build who has the parts and a set of scales handy can assist.
Many thanks,
Ult-jim.

So far a mathematical theoretical study to calculate accurately the motion ratio, wheel rate & suspension frequency. Why? Similar work done with my Caterham created a set of custom valved Penske 3 ways & springs that have transformed the car.
Interesting. Keep us posted deadscoob said:
Factory may have all this?

Thanks I will ask them. If this is a success, (I guess I would have to do some sort of back to back testing on a test track) then I will share with the Ultima community with a full report with all the maths and comparison dyno graphs, video and track times to back it up. So far all my research points towards bucking the trend. The combination of Penske and Caterham worked so hopefully repeating the same research it will work with the Ultima. It may all be an embarrassing expensive waist of time. Nothing is going to happen fast, the downside Penske 3 way's are not cheap and I need to find a job first! Also interested in seeing results.
