What is the current desired tranaxle of choice?

I would add a G50-52 to the list. After looking at the post regarding the Graziano transaxle there is a lot of work to get it installed and setup a Graziano.
Agree, G50-52 & G50-50 I think are still streets ahead of the standard Carrera boxes though a little agricultural compared to the newer GT2 style box.Still a worthy contender plus point being 9 1/2" crown wheel, also there is a lot of aftermarket support for these Boxes in particular.
That Graziano box is a monster (built for 750nm) and a bit of waste with the extra output shaft and mech that goes with it.
I know a Ricardo box from the Ford GT can fit (not as big as the Graz), one was destined for my car but in the end it got fitted to a twin turbo dart blocked CanAm.

I think the owner of the CanAm with that set up has removed the Ricardo due to it making the car too heavy at the back and a ruined the handling.

Very happy with my G50-20 box. Not that easy to get hold of though. Seems very strong, fitted easily, has a good set of ratios for both hard driving and motorway cruising.Mark

I think you'll find everything has been removed after melting a newly re-built engine.Paul
I think it is now getting an LS7.

The twin turbo was a work of art but with way too much grunt.

Agreed, Considering a similar set up myself (same builder / fabricator) but with a more "restrained spec" Paul
Are you having traction control?

Although almost all G50s are great in Ultimas, I think if I were building one now a G50 of any type would be at about the bottom of my wish list. It's getting increasingly hard to find decent G50s and they don't seem to exist for sensible money anymore - thank the crazy prices of older Porsches I guess.
Default has gotta be some type of 997 box now, shame as none of those have right hand gear shifts which I think adds to the event driving.
I wish someone clever could get a Pdk box in and working!

What you need is a 996 GT3 getrag box from a cup racer, with a SQS sequential shifter and despoke made CWP to raise the gearing to well over 30mph per 1000 rpm in 6th Default has gotta be some type of 997 box now, shame as none of those have right hand gear shifts which I think adds to the event driving.

After buying all this Ive switched to build a front engined car instead lol... at least there are a load more options for me now
