I was just looking at Z-Cars website for some ideas for my Hillman Imp and saw that they have (or had?) an Ultima GTR in with a Radical V8 (two Hyabusa engines joined together, I think). Does it belong to a lurker on this forum?
They made a twin-engined Ultima sports a few years ago, but this one is new to me.

Here are a couple of stills from the video (hence the poor quality):

It looks very compact. Should also sound good with a high-revving engine.

ETA: Apparently the engine has a dry weight of 88kg (193lbs)!

Cool engine in a Radical, not so sure about when in an Ultima though. Expensive and need refreshes relatively frequent even in a car 300kg lighter?

Assume it's a race car?

Is it this one?

If so it belongs to a Spanish guy. I think it spends much more time at Z Cars than in Spain though.

No it's not that one. That one has two Hyabusa 4-cylinder engines and four wheel drive, whereas the other has a Hyabusa-derived V8.

As said above, I wonder how reliable it'll be. A friend had a Radical with the regular Hyabusa supplied by Radical, and it had way too many problems to be viable as his racing car, so he went to another company. Still, I suspect if the gearing on the transaxle is well matched, it may be good.

I see it now. I thought the body was a GTR, but the missing external door hinges threw me off.
Is it still four wheel drive? Tell me more! Is it yours, or still Spanish?

i saw the car the other month on the condition i didnt tell everyone all about it.

all i can say is study the photograph more to see what engine really is in it.

It will be ok to tell you its not 4x4 anymore,

The builder is a true genius, and his attention to detail mindblowing and when you see the car, and then find out who he has worked for you will understand. its incredible how he has been able to bring modern technology he has designed him self, then make from scratch and apply it to the rebuild.

I cant wait to see it finished

They look like Hyabusa heads. I look forward to seeing it sometime.
